Lol like he knows alot about Star Wars.

Everything Shatner said was true.

Star Trek was the series that produced "Spock's Brain".

Star Trek also went to Lucas' ILM company to give it a Star Wars Visual look in the late seventies after SW came out.

Wrath of Khan was the only movie to genuinely stand up with ESB.
The odd numbered movies are all on a Phantom Menace like level.
(maybe discounting the latest one)

Shatner has an Ego like Lucas'.

He also has a similar beltline and number of chins.

Yeah, but in a fist fight, who would you place your money on. Lucus or Shatner?

Even Spock's brain has some real competition in AOTC.

Heh. 'Holiday special' is 'Spock's brain'.

I do think Shatner, for all his bluster, raises several points that are valid, such as how Star Trek was a more in-depth, more "about the people" kind of thing.

I'd have to give that to the Shatman.
(Despite being 80.)

I disagree on the part about SW being derivative from ST. That would imply that ST invented the space opera genre which it certainly didn't.

Nah doesnt even come close. None of the Star Trek big screen attempts do.

Oh please. There was still a large scale audience who enjoyed TPM. Never understood the hate.

I believe Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered Country are very much equal or better than ESB; especially if you discount the many face-lifts ESB has enjoyed over the years.

The Next Generation films are no match for ESB, I'll give you that (even though I'm a fan of First Contact borg ), but it order to judge the 80s Trek films against it you can't give ESB it's modern embellishments.

I disagree. WOTK was awesome.
Awesome space battles, great characters/plot, well directed, with plenty of heart it had depth passion and returned the previously sterile universe the movies would depict and made it more human well acted, awesome music score and better than the movie that preceeded it. It has a great dark ending and it felt of consequence. Its rewatchability is great too. Never gets old.
Just like Empire.

"Oh please..." 70% of the world have no discernment.
Bay's Transformers' sales attest to this.
More than that percentage once thought that the earth was flat too at one point.
I don't see 'might is right' as being the true gauge of good taste or of accurate perception..
Ive never been one for herd mentality, myself..

Witness the horror that such a lack of critical thinking can allow:
