Darth Truculent
The Rage Virus tears a path through the state of Washington and the infection reaches into Forks. The Wolves and Vampires are attacked by the hate filled zombies. Do the Wolves and Vampires survive the infection?

An interesting question Truculent.

-The VAMPIRES although human in original form are much more now. It's hard to say if they are an evolved form of being with human origins.
The Rage virus didn't work on animals. Only humans. It's 50/50 whether they survive infection.

But it doesn't matter because they are hard as granite. Bites won't do squat. The Cullen's greatest fear would be running out of food that isn't infected. The Volturi being addicted to human blood would go crazy and eat an infected human. the Cullens would have a great chance of survival if the virus worked on them.

-The WEREWOLVES bite their prey therefore would become infected quickly. There aren't many of them and sooner or later during fights they will become infected. In werewolf state the virus shouldn't have any effect. But when they return to human it should.

And infected Werewolves should mean dead survival vamps.

It all depends on the virus' specific infection ability. But the werewolves won't last long unless they permanently stay in werewolf state. Which may not be possible.

Placidity
Rage virus infects normal living humans.

- Would not work against Vampires, clinically dead, inhuman physiology.

- Would not work against Werewolves, inhuman physiology, animal form.

The thing about the Rage virus is that they tried to ground it with a realistic scientific explanation which makes it harder to believe it could infect something so different. If it were some other far-fetched type infection (like a vampire/lycan virus) then I would probably entertain the idea.

Lord Lucien
Didn't the virus also infect monkeys? They're sapians, and the Werewolves were... half... sapians. The Vampires are immune though. Only thing that infects them is Wuv.

the ninjak
I reckon the Werewolves go mad the second they return to human form.

Placidity
Apart from their inhuman physiology even in human form, the wolves have an accelerated healing factor, which may kill the virus. In fact, it likely will since the same HF is able to remove vampire venom very quickly from a werewolf if bitten.

The "werewolves" of Twilight have 24 chromosomal pairs.

The Vampires have 25.

Neither of them are human, due to this. However, since they can produce fertile offspring, some biologists define that as "sub-species". However, reality is....if there is that much of a different, it would literally be impossible to sexually reproduce. That is something Stephanie Meyer did not think about when giving each of those groups additional chromosomes.
