What is the fastest fighter ship used by the Rebellion?

This is a hard one.I am guessing the X-Wing.

I think it's actually the A-Wing, I know that in the Computer games it is the fastest but that doesn't make in cannon.

Ratcat you are correct. In most source books you'll find that the A-Wing is indeed the fastest of the Rebellion's star fighters. Can you name the Empire's fastest star fighter?

The Tie-defender, I think.

It depends. Do preybirds count?

In 'traditional EU,(which is getting inot a very complicated area), it's the TIE Interceptor.

Well I think the preybirds are faster but technically I guess they are not Imperial ships as they were purchased from mercinaries and not produced by the imperials themselves.

I agree with Ush on this one, it's the TIE Interceptor.

It's the TIE Defender. Not including the video games, the Defender is also seen in XW:RS: Isard's Revenge.

The answer I was looking for was TIE Interceptor, but I don't know, perhaps you're right about it actually being the Defender.
