How so?

Rulk has lost the ability to shift gears like he once did. He can only go past his base strength if he siphons from gamma mutates. he recently fought Omegex, and while using his powers to grow stronger, Omegex turned the tables on him, and began doing to him what he tried to do to it. It overloaded his power set, and left him effectively depowered. if this was Rulk of last spring he would have a good chance at winning, but in his current state Renegade would bounce him to Jupiter. For some reason, I don't see a retcon in his future unless Loeb finds a way of explaining it.
