Who got the last laugh? Joker of course.

Joker has proven himself that he is one of the greatest villains in comics history as he took the top spot in Comic Vine's Top 100 Super villains 2011.

Who wouldn't recognize him when he's simply Batman's greatest foe.

Meanwhile, Lex Luthor is #2 and Magneto secured the #3 spot.

104 comic vine members participated the annual poll which is being conducted by the Comic Vine community

Joker and Lex are good choices. Not so sure about Magneto, as he isn't what I'd call a villain nowadays.

You're kinda right though. It's still a question whether or not he should be showing up in supervillains list or superheroes list

JakeTheBank
Not sure what Joker and Lex really did in 2011 to grant them the two top spots outside of them being Joker and Lex.

But it's Comic Vine, so meh.

They are all just so iconic that they pop into your mind 1st

Doom's villainy makes them weep with envy.

Victor Von Doom is a bum

An always Kang is very underrated, but I'm surprised of how well Red Skull did here.

WTF? Is it still Thanos's schtick to plot out his own defeat?
If so he is lukcy to have got slot #32...

And lets face it. His plot to take over earth in the Avengers Movie wasn't exactly what I would call very THANOS-ey of a plot.

He's been an omniversal threat at least 2 times.
Then they put him at #32? :ORLYWTF:
His list of feats put him @ Top 5 easily.

TheHulk

Thanos' self loathing and pathos is what makes him a pretty interesting character. Really, in terms of villainy, he should be in the top ten at least.

And his plot was actually pretty sound, all things considered. He used Loki as a pawn to obtain the Terrasect, effectively loaning him the Chitauri army and letting him keep Earth should he succeed. Thanos and Loki weren't expecting humanity to band together in the form of the Avengers, which ironically assembled in the first place to stop their plan. After learning that Earth did have a line of defense and challenging them would be to "court death", I can only imagine that's right up Thanos' alley.

A Villains powerlevel doesn't have any bearing on how good of a character they are

Prep-Man
Well deserved.

Keep trying Doom, one day your dreams may come true.

His feats trump most of the others in the list.

Power level has nothing to do it.

jalek moye
Stronger Chars tend to have better feats but once again doesn't make them better characters. The best villians and the most powerful/deadly villains aren't necessarily the same.

Just as someone like Superman isn't a better hero then Spider-man based soley on his feats. Otherwise we'd just pick an uber powerufl villain who did nothing other then an uber feat in one appearance.

This usually turns into a popularity contest in the end. I don't like my favorite characters creep into the list. And I can't forget it's comicvine. That place is bad news.

i don't know what you're talking about.

Superman is better than Spiderman in almost every way.

Don't see how you don't get me saying that superman having better feats doesn't make him a better character then spider-man. Because it doesn't, heros and villains are more then just lists of feats they are characters and that is what separates a great one from someone who appears once and is never remembered.

A no one name character can appear once and have an awesome feat, but just because his one feat is better then say Lex's doesn't make him a better villian.
