Name a team of the same number (and level) of characters capable of taking at least 6/10 against the Grendels... Assume all combatants are fightning to the best of their potential.

Fight takes place across 1 square block of Gotham.

I'm mostly pretty clueless when it comes to Grendel. Can you post or list some notable feats?

Obviously not. Just a general idea where they stand in your opinion.

Hunter Rose=Batman-level. Arguably a bit above.
Christine/Brian=Slightly below that.
Eppy=Batman-level. Arguably a bit above.
Grendel Prime=Very hard to precisely place, as we never saw an upper limit. Physically he could lift 18 wheelers and toss them around, and he schooled Batman with a mixture of fighting skill/strength. He was a cyborg that could recharge via solar or electrical absorption... And he carried a lightsaber-esque weapon to boot.

Grendel Prime sounds pretty badass.

I've always glanced at the collections of Grendel my LCS has and the ones I've seen at Barnes and Noble, but I never really read any of it. I'm guessing you'd recommend a more in-depth look?

A great 8 issue mini-series centered around the original incarnation of Grendel (Hunter Rose) is called Behold the Devil. It is the best Grendel material out there, imo. It follows Grendel in his earlier years (much like DC's "Year One" line)--so it's easy to enjoy even if you're a new reader. In fact, it was the first Grendel series I ever read.

If you're interested in Grendel Prime, check out War Child, Devil's Quest, and Batman/Grendel (yes, it's a canon crossover.)

does seem that way. i haven't actually read anything with grendel prime though.

forgetting him for the moment, a team like nightwing, black widow, daredevil and someone different, like echo, might be a nice match-up. prime sounds more in spidey's range.... where did you come across him?

I first came across Grendel Prime in Batman/Grendel v2. After that I looked him up in some of the books I mentioned above.

Spidey-range does sound about right for him.

This thread is old, but I still did specify that the characters on your team need to be the "same level" as the members of the Grendel clan.
