Q has set these dynamic duos against each other in a contest of wit/resourcefulness and battle prowess...
1) To save the Queen
Kirk and Spock are out to kill The Queen. They have only a tri-corder from their tech to use. They are dressed in contemporary attire. They have 36 hours and Holmes and Watson are aware of a plot but don't know what the assassins look like. And Scotland Yard is not assisting....
2) Destroy the Enterprise
Holmes and Watson are aboard the Enterprise with the purpose of blowing it up. Again they have contemporary clothes and are listed as part of the crew. They have 3 days to learn enough of the ship/tech and crew to try to achieve their goal...Kirk and Spock learn of the danger with 24 hours to spare...

Q places the teams against each other on an alien world where neither has an advantage. Which team would likely win.
