Who wins?

Stoic
2099

carver9
They Merge into one and become SuperMajinDoom and destroy the universe.

JakeTheBank
616.

Galan007
Didn't 2099 Doom have an adamantium suit?

Anyway, 616 wins.

Stoic
I thought that 2099 was just Doom in the future, with superior tech. After all when he arrived on the 2099 scene the ruler of that time, shit stomped him. 2099 wins this easy.

JakeTheBank
616 has way better feats.

Stoic
But 2099 is 616 in the future. It's the same guy, but with better tech. That's like Ironman winning a fight with himself in a suit nearly 100 years more advanced than the one he has on. Without PIS, I don't see how he would ever win.

Doom lost his memories and as a result lost a great deal of his mystical prowess. There's also the fact that the 2099 reality isn't 616 in the future, but an alternate one at that, and as such, it's own reality.

Didn't he regain those memories near the end of the 2099 story line? It may be a different reality, but it is not some written law that alternate reality characters are weaker than their 616 counter parts, they could be, but they may also be stronger.

True, which is why we use feats to determine that. And 2099's feats don't compare to 616 Doom's.

Stoic
Feats are not the be all end all. At times you have to use logic, and logic says that Doom 2099 with all of his memories and better tech, is above his 616 counter part.

But don't they share the same feats, up until the timeline branch?

You would think so, but it doesn't work like that in the world of comics.

Who is to say when exactly that timeline branches off from 616 and becomes the 2099 reality?

It kind of explains what happened to Doom in the very first 2099 book though.

Right, and again, 616 reality at that time =/= 616 reality of this time. Let alone all the possible futures and what not that have been averted, cancelled out, or what have you, and it's a pretty big stretch to assume that Doom 2099 would have access to all of current Doom's feats by proxy.

Stoic
I don't see why he would not, if he retained all of 616 Dooms resources, and memories, but still had better tech. By proxy he would/should be above his more ancient self.
