So, after Reed Richards beat the shit out of K'lrt with his famous "Anti-Super-Skrull laser beam" (because Reed solve all his problems with a laser gun), K'lrt is like:
"Well, if I can't beat the Fantastic Four, what are my chances against the Avengers!?
No. I have to build my confidence. And I will build it by fighting a much, much suckier team, with poor leadership: The X-Men!"

Fight in the wood. K'lrt is pissed off, but won't kill unless he don't have the choice. The X-Men go for the K.O., but Wolverine, who is out there for the kill.
