Both have GL rings. Superman has equal xp on the GL as Hal does. Superman has no Kryptonian powers.

Pre Reboot versions of both characters.

Basically: Who has higher willpower?

Superman has been stated to have the highest willpower in creation

Assuming Kal-El wants kill...he wills Hal out of existence, but...would that count as a kill?

Hal has had too much exp with the ring and his willpower is crazy good.

Unless you're talking about new 52 Hal, who seems to lose to everyone.

Pre reboot Hal beats Supes.

New Hal.... stalemate if he's lucky.

In an actual ring fight, Hal would win.

Hal wins. Superman has higher willpower though.

Actually, that would be fairly easy to pull off, assuming that the 2 land on each other at some point in the fight.

For instance, if Hal is more ruthless than Clark, he could strike with an edged weapon-stlye construct that would cause traumatic injury, versus if, Clark, say, struck Hal only with some comparatively gentle subduing construct, like Dark Kara did back in Supergirl #4 when taking out John Stewart with HIS Lantern ring. There, confident she could use his ring against him, she chose to knock him out with a simple boxing glove style creation ... and then gave the ring BACK to Stewart so he could use it when he woke up!

It sounds like Creativity and Imagination will also play a role.

Clark would not beat Hal in his own game even if he has been stated to have a better willpower.
