An extremly old man steals Didi's (Deaths) ankh. She however does not seem to care to much and ask's for it back but still goes along and gets another to replace it. She escapes from the Eremite and her day is up and she meets herself at the end.

Here Death and Dream go along while she continues to do her job. Dream says he can hear her "mighty wings". We can clearly see from the darkened of the side where she is suppose to be she does have them! She is the angel of Death! Also Morpheous tells his sister it was her that Roderick Burgess tried to capture, she said she "knows" but she quickly goes about her business like it means nothing.

This is the story of the beginning of the DCU, she was nice at the beginning then got down and began to hate her job, then was nice again after learning she gets to meet everyone and everything. She also becomes mortal once a hundred years to understand what its like and not to let things get to her that much.

Here during a meeting of a parliament of abstracts in the DCU, Death shows up and everyone is clearly nervous about her being there. She decides to leave but tells them "it won't make a lot of diffference, in the long run, will it? One by one you will all come to me ".

Sto-Oa informs Killalla of the glow (an Oan) that what she saw was not a death goddess or another version of death, but she was Death herself, just like that Dream is Dream, they are the Endless!

In a time long ago separate from the rest of the DCU where no one ages, Death has been waiting at this gate for a very long time till someone could break it down, this man comes along she asks him to do it and he obligees. When the man was a boy he did the same thing, he asked if she could just went around but that wouldn't be fair so she waits. Death destroys the entire place and nothing is left.

Death talking to Rainie, she is Omnipresence. Death "Rainie in West Africa small village is being massacred by mercenaries, in pay of their own government, I'm there", "In the farthest reaches of a distant galaxy, a planet is being ripped apart by internal stresses; the planet was home to many crystal intelligences, calm and fine and beautful. I am there as well". She was waiting on the first living thing to exist and when the last living thing dies her job will be done. She will close and lock the universe behind her when she leaves.

In Destiny's palace the Endless meet. During the discussion Desire and Dream get into it with each other and afterwards Dream leaves and Desire is happy about it and Death warns her to 'shut up if you ever want to speak again , shut up'.

Orpheus wants his wife back and asks Destruction for help, he says to talk to his aunt (Teleute) about this, he then asks "what can she do for me?" he saids "she can do whatever she wants to boy, there will be conditions, but then there always are". Her realm is known as the Sunless Lands, and also she calls it the Dying.

Death chatting with Destruction about the universe and telling him "everyone can know what Destiny knows, and more then that". Dream and Destruction was bewildered by this.

One of the only things we have seen that could link The Endless to having as a parent is this voice who oversees when they die. It was left unknown if this was God or not.

The Endless create a new being, with Death the one who brings life! The being goes down into the Necropolis Litharge for the cloth for Dream.

A girl Death meets asks her "whats the meaning to life to misery to pain to hurting, and dying. Death answers it by saying "It's got lots of answers, and the answers don't really mean anything--they aren't stupid questions but they could just as well be, 'when is purple, why does thursday' if you see what I mean".

The girl replys "not really", Death says "well, I think some of it is contrast. Light and Shadow. If you never had the bad times, how would you know you had the good times?".

In Action Comic's Lex is having a near Death experience. Here we get to see Death using her omniscience power, as she can see all possible futures and ends for all the beings who fall under her auspice .

Lucifer Morningstar meets Death of the Endless. He is so close to dying even trying to pull himself back would push him over the edge!

Lucifer standing in a threatening manner, he threatens her saying "I intend to survive this, anything you say ought to take that into account". Death says to him "You know I told my brother once, that if you kill the messenger----in the long run you just get less mail". If he tried to harm her, the outcome of it would not be something he would like.

Here while talking with Lex and him blaming her for the Blackest Night. Death says "Oh. Yeah. I noticed that. It looked like they ere all having a great time. You know people do come back from the dead . It's not a big deal, I am kinda busy". Lex saying on the next page "the dead have come back to life! Several of them!" Death "It happens! In the end, they all come back to me". Treating the Blackest Night and Nekron as though they was hardly worth noticing in the big scheme of things.

While Lucifer was near Death, it was Elaine who gave her life force in order for Lucifer to return. Death takes Elaine away like she does everyone.

Tim Hunter lies dying on the ground he says something that would reveal more about Death's power then anyone else. "I know what holds the world together, now . Except it's not a what. It's not even an it, really. She's pretty... She's so pretty..."

This story takes place where 2 ladies Plath and Evangeline try to force Death of the Endless to give back one of their friends Billy. In order to do this they are buying the Magdalene Grimoire, it was the book that helped capture Dream her younger brother. Little does Plath know when she gets the book she gets more then that, within it is Death's very own sigil . From that moment on since Plath touched it she died.

Here Plath is sitting one moment the next she begins to "fall, down and down and down, where the dead men go. The dead throat of the universe opening to accept her". One of the beings that seem to work for her get scared when he see's she has Deaths sigil and push's her off his boat!

Death then sends Petrefax, journyman of Litharge and he asks for it back. Plath demands that Death come get it herself which he says "I was sent only to convey that message, that she wants it back , and will it back , one way or another ".

Death sends Billy back as a warning to Plath and Evangeline. Billy says, "You cannot begin to conceive of her Evangeline. Even in the end when she comes for you, even then you'll only see something she's made for you to comprehend, to make the passage easier".

Plath calls to Death with the sigil and trys to bind her down using her own power against her and with the book that captured Dream (when he was weak). Above her those wheels in the sky roll, warmholes, blackhole seals breaking down, whole worlds pouring one into the other, the porcelain frail and inviolable line between life and death crumbling apart... the voice sighs again, then, and I'm sorry Amelia, it whispers familar and perfectly strange . It didn't have to be this way. And then it doesn't say anything else at all.

Death uses Evangeline as an cipher. All this planning, having Death's own sigil and power along with using the book that captured Dream (while very weak), trying to bind Death and she still couldn't. In the end Death takes Plath or Amelia as she calls her since she has gone to far and can't go back.

Good freakin job, kevdude!! After reading this, it felt like death just operate on a whole 'nother level. There's been events and plot that threatened the universe and existence before but you can tell when Death finally decided to close the door, it's done. And was done in an absolute manner too (no f'in around)! Great job, man. I'll be revisiting this often. Her ability to casually cross over to marvel made her omnipresent even more awesome. Also, i'm glad DC didn't saturate her by putting her in too many stories aka no pis showing. This was just as good as The Word thread. kudos.
