TOR era- Who's badass on the Dark Council?

Q99
What Sith Lords would you say are badass on the The Old Republic era Dark Council, and which ones seemed like they only got there through politics and bargaining, luck, or what have you?

Even in a group like that, some'll be better than others, after all.

Q99
Well, I'll mention Darth Mehkis. Aside from being a scientist that made badass things, she seemed pretty tough, and had fought against Satele Shan before and lived. Not one of the top badasses, but respectable.

Then there's Thanaton. Any Sith who goes out crying for help from other sith... yea, not so badass smile Even if he had respectable power.

Stealth Moose
Thanaton technically can use high level Force storm, wave my hand and kill SIth acolytes, and Force flight.

He's not the most badass on the Council, but he's leagues above most mundane Sith.

Q99
Yea, he's got good power, but not the willpower when the going gets tough.

No Sith council member is going to be a complete chump, dog-eat-dog as they are.

Based
No one since Republic is easily the best.

Q99
Well, who's badass in the Republic then? Satele Shan, obviously, but who else?

Nephthys
Tol Braga. Dude fought a Dark Council member for several days straight and then turned him to the lightside and made him his padawan.

Q99
Ok, that's pretty badass.

Slowpoke
Jadus is cool.

He definitely looks badass. What are his feats?

Lucius
Jadus makes people cumsuffer intense pain when he's in close proximity. Apparently just standing near the dude causes people to feel physically ill and sickening pain. Dude needs to get that looked into.

Unless your Agent or Keeper... apparently.

Thanaton has some absurd lightning related powers... such as FLYING. Basically Thanaton is a lightning god and overall, a powerful Sith. He's still a whiny ***** though.

Supposedly all twelve of these assholes are supposed to be badass mofos, but most of them sit on their ass and don't do anything interesting.

The fact that when Jadus died, his daughter/apprentice seems to have gotten the chair automatically, makes me think at least a portion of them are in for politics or similar reasons.

If this helps:

To serve on the Dark Council is to achieve the greatest position of honor, power and influence in the Empire. Many Sith spend their entire lives plotting their ascension to the council, but with millions vying only for 12 seats, the competition is cutthroat. The powerful few who join the council often serve for only a few months, their lives cut short by internal power struggles or external enemies who target them for assassination. (Star Wars The Old Republic Encyclopedia)

Securing a position on the Dark Council is a big feat; and lasting long is an even bigger feat.

Most powerful Dark Councilers during the time of Satele Shan are:

- Darth Thanaton
- Darth Marr
- Darth Wowrawn
- Darth Baras
- Darth Jadus

All of them are bad@sses.

Darth Marr is arguably the most powerful among them:

Warlord and master of the dark side, Darth Marr is the most senior member of the Dark Council. (Star Wars The Old Republic Encyclopedia)

Thanaton has been described as a supremely powerful Sith. wink

He is not killed by ordinary means.

Yes! Their are other bad@sses in the Empire. Lord Scourge, Darth Angral, Darth Malgus, Lord Vivicar and Lord Praven are among them. These guys are not members of the Dark Council though.

Lord Scourge's replacement; the Sith Warrior is supremely powerful.

Oh, I notice that he joined in his 20s, but was on it at least into his 60s, suggesting perhaps a 40 year tenure. Impressive, most impressive.

Darth Marr!

So, if you believe Scourge to be powerful what do you think of Surik?

Yes!

This heroic Jedi Counciler becomes a master of the Force.

Q99
Oh yea, minor correction: Consular. A councilor is one who sits on the council, while a consular is a diplomat, sage, or similar.

Thanks.

Star Wars The Old Republic Encyclopedia observes Revan, Ven Zallow and Kao Cen Darach as prominent Jedi Guardians.

Q99
Kao Cen Darach gets major props for teaching Satele and slaying Vindican, even when Malgus was there helping.

Ven? *Checks* Lesse, before putting up a fight against Malgus, he beat two or three other sith warriors (one might or might not have died) and took down at least three commandos. Not bad.

Kao Cen Darach was also the battlemaster of the Jedi Order; this explains his extraordinary finesse in lightsaber dueling arts. smile

Ven Zallow was impressive, specially in the book (Cinematic trailer tends to undermine his performance); he effortlessely countered Eleena's blaster fire without even looking at her and dispatched her in the same fashion; effortlessely dispatched most of the Sith Warriors like fodder who confronted him; easily bested even Lord Adraas; and dodged saber throw attacks in amazing manner. This guy was indeed something big. smile

Hm, this is giving me an idea. Maybe we should do a thread on most impressive fights vs groups of force users.

We focus on the one-on-one fights a lot, but celebrating the times some badass took out a buncha sith or jedi warriors could be fun too.
