Superman is in another league, playing nice he will give Gokus some shots but then he will end it quick. Faster, stronger, invulnerable and more handsome.

Fight starts on Earth, in the middle of a desert. I don't expect that to last long.

Goku gets dusted before he can power up. O-o

Goku's powered up pretty fast before when the situation warrants it.

you have a point that goku would love the sport of fighting superman, as superman has expressed a joy in being challenged in an arena where he would not have to hold back his strength to avoid destroying the earth.

and thats the real dilemma: both superman and goku love earth and its inhabitants and would never risk exterminating life on any planet for simple sport.

he holds back to avoid killing his opponent, other humans or even destroying the world. in the cartoon you mention, he complains that he feels like he lives in a cardboard world, having to always control himself and hold back even in the fiercest of battles.

if superman were less honorable, he could just sneak attack goku when he hasnt powered up his chi and rip him in half, but we know that wouldnt happen.


the notion of "bloodlust" is completely asinine as both superman and goku have always expressed compassion and forgiveness for even their most loathsome enemies, and only kill when they have no reasonable alternative.

with all that aside, i think the heart of the silly premise is the question of "who is more powerful". since brolly made a casual hobby of destroying galaxies, and goku defeated brolly, i think goku. his power boarders somewhere between ludicrous and obnoxious

So you've seen the episode. Superman literally did not hold back at all against Darkseid, as he said something like "but you, you can take it" after the quotes you mentioned and then proceeded to levy a vicious beat-down.

Though the cartoon was unrealistic(big surprise), as their exchange of unrestricted blows (no homo) would have done more than shatter glass and crack sidewalks.

Superman is no more overpowered than dozens of other heroes i.e. not that much at all.
