Hello! I'm doing a research in computer mediated communication and i'm interested in the way forum member perceive moderator (moderators please do not delete this thread ).
I ask you to answer several questions:
Moderator:
1. Age and sex
2.Look
3. Good moderator does....
4. Good moderator does not.....
5. Do you want to be a moderator? Why/Why not?

Thank you very much

Robtard
1) Age = 29-40
2) Look = Hot
3) Good moderator does... Anal, oral, vagina, light BDSM
4) Good moderator does not... Say no to any of #3
5) Do you want to be a moderator? No. See #3

You're welcome.

Utterly inaccurate assessment.

What do you mean "light?"

Nope.

As in not heavy, ****er.

it is illegal to conduct research on individuals without informed consent, prior ethics approval or a debriefing session.

the proper authorities have been contacted.

please close

nicoletta
Very funy but not informative laughing out loud

nicoletta
I do not research you, so i don't need your consent.

I fixed #3, you forgot a few things.

Unfortunately Ush does none of these things.

Astner
20 - 25, woman.
Hot.
Offers me blowjobs and sammiches on a regular basis, and ban people I don't like.
Ban me.
Nah, I don't waste my time with stupid shit.

1. 29 M
2. Look - I do not know what this means.
3. Good moderator does....a good job of moderating.
4. Good moderator does not.....knee-jerk react towards members and weighs each situation fairly.
5. Do you want to be a moderator? No. I do enough supervising in the real world: I do not need to babysit "children" on the internet, as well.

Is that what that question means? I thought it was asking for "my" age and gender.

I guess you're better at understanding the broken English from OP than I am. I interpret it to be my age and gender.

The question makes more sense if you consider that this is a research poll. "70% of males say X traits are good in moderators."

Oliver North
it isn't a research poll

there is no institution on the planet with such low standards

its a grade 8 project or some kid who wants to start a forum

A research poll does not have to be scientific in order for it to be a research poll.

Is it for research? Check. Even if for personal interest, it is still research.

Is it a poll? Check.

It is a research poll.

And I do not think it is a kid. It is an adult from Asia.

Oliver North
if you put the term "research" in quotations, maybe

nicoletta
Thank you for compliment, but i'm not a kid. My research concerns the personality of moderator. I just wanted to ask forum members the info that i can't find in the web.
Please stick to the point. If you have something to say you are welcome, if not go to hell.

nicoletta
My research is not based on that poll. It's just additional information.

It is a federal law where I am from, and in most of Europe. Might be a state thing in America.

So, if you could kindly provide information about the institution you are involved with, funding, ethics approval, how you keep personal information private, etc, sure, I'll participate.

Does it all concern virtual personality?

in Canada, yes. in fact, data collected on subjects through electronic means is required by law to be kept on an encrypted drive. A virtual identity still contains things that could identify us as individuals. a screen name, afaik, is not the same as anonymity.

laws may vary. if you aren't doing research for an institution, you are likely safe, I'm just giving you shit.

I'm not, however, lying wink

Men have egos that you can bruise easily. Men cry when your not looking to hide the shame from their face. Men tend to over exaggerate. Men think they know best. Most importantly men think their lies will never catch up to them but thats only a matter of time. If I weren't a man I would hate myself.. instead I play the role of a lifetime.

I have never heard of this and it wasn't covered in any of my science of statistic classes...or legal classes.

This is my favorite post in the whole thread. I'm not even sure the last line is congruent with the rest, but it's worth a chuckle.

Also, this should probably be closed. Even if it's only for personal curiosity, the questionnaire is poorly constructed, and the majority of answers reveal more about the posters' sexual kinks than anything useful about mods.

I hear 4chan loves doing things like this though. OP, you should try this there.

But to help the kid out:

Moderator:
1. Age and sex - 28M
2.Look - Exactly like me, freshly showered and nude.
3. Good moderator does....everything I do.
4. Good moderator does not.....do anything that I don't.
5. Do you want to be a moderator? Why/Why not? Hell no.

Is this question relevant to these statements?

"it is illegal to conduct research on individuals without informed consent, prior ethics approval or a debriefing session."

"It is a federal law where I am from, and in most of Europe. Might be a state thing in America."

The answer to your question is a resounding yes.

you are telling me you do research on human subjects with no legal requirement of informed consent?

Very odd question considering you asked me this:

"do you do research on people?"

To which I replied:

"The answer to your question is a resounding yes."

I asked you a question in my previous post. Let us start there before we proceed with more questions.

But, I'll entertain you question for just a second:

What about this exchange:
you asked me this:

"do you do research on people?"

To which I replied:

"The answer to your question is a resounding yes."

"told" you this?:

"you are telling me you do research on human subjects with no legal requirement of informed consent?"

I mean...back up the assumption train a bit and then rethink your last question.

Oliver North
ddm, easy question, does your research require informed consent?

Bat Dude
The amount of inappropriate comments I see regularly on this forum baffles me... sad

1. The best age for a moderator would probably be around the 20s or early 30s. Gender of the moderator? Idk, probably male.

2. Look? That has nothing to do with being a moderator. That question was just asking for perverts to post nonsense...

3. A good moderator makes sure posts follow the forum rules/guidelines and generally keeps things civil.

4. A good moderator does not play favorites or judge conflicts through seniority (aka whichever poster has been there longer is right).

5. Me? A mod? Heck no! I don't have the patience...

You answer my questions, first. I've already indulged your trolling so now it is your turn.

I'm not even close to being a butt. ON is clearly being difficult for his lulz.

Bardock42
It's obviously not a researcher or a kid wanting to start a forum. It's a troll that wants us to bash moderators.

Obviously.

Ushgarak
Dadude- no, once again you are being ridiculously obscure with your answers. That in itself is merely annoying to any sense of continuity in the thread, but moreover your accusation of trolling is false and inappropriate. This is not the first time you have done that. It will have to be a formal warning if you keep being this way.

Anyway, this thread is clearly serving no good purpose, so closed.
