What if it was possible to draw something and have it come to life?

What type of world would you draw? Which comic book worlds do you feel would be ideal for this (right now)?

Galan007
Silver age Metropolis.

JakeTheBank
New Genesis or Classic Asgard ala Jack Kirby.

abhilegend
Bludhaven. J/K

Digi
I would draw a world that is tied directly to my life force in our universe, and I would create events that, through some sort of quantum entanglement, granted me powers in our world.

Sorry, obvious loophole. I'll be quiet now.

Realistically, if I had that kind of power, it would be impossible to write negative stories, which would be willfully bringing suffering to them. I'd create a utopia. No fighting, nothing. Probably a lot of beer hall stories a la Valhalla.

Bentley
I want to see an sketch of that universe Digi or I call bs on you being able to draw it biscuits

that is pretty interesting digi. You would be able to control this world at our own discretion

I'd draw a comic about my lucid-dreaming persona, essentially becoming a god in real-time (well, a novice god: I'm still learning how to exercise my will in the dreamscape).

Among the benefits: women would be built like superhero women: large, gravity-defying breasts, ski-slope hips, powerful thighs, etc.

Bruce Wayne's house. Then put in it Powergirl, Wonder Woman and Catwoman.

It would be a bunch of stick figures. 90% of it would be omniscient narration.

I kinda figured that we were just assuming the lesbian porn. I mean, what universe shouldn't have that.

I have tried lucid dreaming, but failed miserably. Any tips or advice?

There are various induction techniques, but perhaps the most potent is to remind yourself, as often as you can, to be 'lucid' while awake (examples: "Where am I right now?" "Am I awake or dreaming? How do I know?"wink. If we spend most of our daylight hours on 'autopilot', how can we be any more aware while dreaming?

The better you get at remembering to be self-aware while awake, the more likely this will carry over into your dream life. Stengthen the reminder, make it a habit. And be patient. This takes time. Just practice, practice, practice.

Also, have some simple agenda ready (eg, 'TK practice'), so that when lucidity happens, you're not standing around thinking, "Well, now what do I do?" As it is, chances are when lucid awareness comes, you're gonna be so blown away by it, it'll last just a few seconds.

Just keep practicing. smile

My universe is quantum linked to my very being, and grants me powers irl. I can have any woman I want. My lesbian stick figure harem would exist solely to amuse me.

Then you'll be making the same mistake which that ultra-powerful AI transhumanist singularity did in "The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect" .

Is anything possible in lucid dreaming?

Is anything possible in lucid dreaming? I assume you mean, can the lucid dreamer do anything he/she wants. IMO, no.

Dreaming is our perception of the unconscious mind at work. It's the brain organizing information from systems throughout the body, including itself. This is important stuff. It needs to be done.

It's been my experience that if you try and 'commandeer' the dream, there's a response: you lose lucidity or wake up. My best results have come from working with the dream. If you go with the flow, you get to play along the way.

tests
ah, makes sense. How amazing would it be if you had full control over your dreams?

Digi
I lucid dreamed once in my life. I was in a department store and realized I was dreaming. So I made myself Spider-Man and swung around until I woke up. It was awesome.

Wanna give me the cliff's notes? If it doesn't involve lesbians, I'm probably not reading it.

tbh, I like having the dream as 'another player'. Keeps me guessing and challenged.

I don't recall but there is one chapter involving a bit of hardcore lesbian torture pornfest. Essentially that particular scene apparently resulted in Prime Intellect becoming somewhat unhinged as it was reaching the limits of what amount of bending of Asimov's First Law could be allowed.

How amazing would it be if you had full control over your dreams? Actually, dream lucidity and dream control are not necessarily the same thing. One can be lucid and have little/no dream control. One could also have fantastic dream control with little/no lucidity. Go figure.

Anyways, with regard to thread topic...I remind ya'll of "Cool World."

'Nuff said. It makes sense in some way I guess. If you are aware of it doesn't mean you can control it.

Generally though once I'm aware something is a dream I tend to have control over it, sometimes not always total control. It varies for me.

The thing about lucid dreaming is that it feels real. Imagine being able to lucid dream about anything you can imagine. I guess this ties directly to original topic question I posed

The thing about lucid dreaming is that it feels real. Indeed. Basically, your brain does at night what it does during the day: fabricate a world out of sensory impressions. When awake, the impressions are immediate; when asleep, the brain uses stored impressions.

I thought 'The Matrix' touched on the what's-real thing pretty well.

tests
True. I wonder if we will ever get to a stage where we can manipulate the brain to believe something is real

The urge to do something sarcastic and snarky like link you the wiki to "Religion" is overwhelming. My apologies for considering it, even though I possessed the restraint to merely talk about it.

hehe, quite clever digi.

What I meant is something like the matrix, where technically anything is possible.

In short yes. A world where anything is possible! (waiting to become sober)

One thing that is weird about lucid dreams is when someone wakes you up right in the middle of it

Its takes forever to force yourself back to sleeping/ lucid dreaming and its usually short
