Whats so special about this mangog? Before his race was combined into one being, for imprisonment, (which was the only way that Odin was able to stop them from destroying Asgard), they destroyed thousands of galaxies.

From the moment of Mangog's appearance, Odin shat himself and all written material, narration, conversations, etc, stated that Odin was powerless against Mangog.

Mangog crushed Asgard, on-panel, 2 times. Everything they had was powerless against him.

He left Thor unconscious 4 times and physically defeated Odin twice, although the second time, Odin was weakened from a last ditch move, due to Odin shunting Asgard to a distant dimension where the 616 universe would not also be destroyed when Mangog drew the Twilight Sword, which he did. Odin shunted Asgard because he could not defeat Mangog. Again, this was stated on panel very often.

The first time Mangog was beaten, Odin had to separate the Billion Billion beings that inhabited him. Mangog seemed to dissipate, but returned.

The second time, Odin had to absorb the power from the Twilight Well, which is a twin of the well from which he draws his own power. When he did this, he was described as amp'd more than ever before. And, even then, all he was able to do was block Mangog from the power sources he used, dissipating him temporarily, but not destroying him. Odin, however, died from this attack. For real.

The third time Mangog was defeated, was when he tried his hand disguised as Odin and absorbing power through the praise of the Asgardians. This time, he faded when the Asgardians found out the ruse and stopped praising him. Again, defeat by cutting him off from a power source. But, not permanently.

Mangog has been beaten in combat 1 time, by Thor directing a Godblast down his throat. And, even that defeat may also have just been a bfr, since hi was last seen on his knees, then getting knocked off of a cliff while dazed.

He has never been shown, except for the final battle with Thor, to be harmed in any way.

Has effortlessly slapped away Thor's thrown hammer.

Has just stood and ignored Thor as he hammered Mangog over and over.

Has been able to hold Thor helpless with his tail, while busy with other matters.

He has effortlessly THROWN an Asgardian mountain so large it could "cover an empire", made up of matter that is 3 times as dense as 616 Earth matter.

Literally IGNORED Asgard's most powerful weapons.

He has rendered Odin and Thor unconscious with single strikes and simple throws to the ground.

He has shown other powers:
- Energy Blasts (very powerful)
- Matter Transmutation (changed several Asgardians into pigs)
- Matter Creation (encased Loki in unbreakable Amber of some sort)
- Possible Teleportation (hinted at a few times during his appearances, due to ability to just disappear and then just show up)
- Obvious Ability to switch Power Sources

Mangog gains power from several different emotional sources in the universe. So far, hate, violence and even praise. There are probably others. Mangog has still not been properly explored by any writers.

But, early on, writers hinted at the possibility that Mangog was going to become a new demon of all negative emotion in the universe. But, that was a long time ago.

A big point here, is the fact that Odin is pretty much THE "Premier Skyfather" in comics. So, him being powerless against Mangog in combat, says a lot. The battles in Mangog were much less than COSMIC, which has added fuel to the arguments by naysayers who try to lowball Mangog. But, at the same time, these battles did occur in Asgard and, supposedly, the ones on-panel were only the most recent battles of many. So, there may be reasons for the way they fought. Or, since we are dealing with another plane of being, the battles may have just SEEMED to have been played out in these less-than-cosmic scenarios.

Regardless, from what I know of the Anti-Monitor, I thought he was above Mangog.
