It seems this place isn't as active as it once was sad

Oh well, Raiden fights these guys in order:

Link (Twilight Princess only)
Cloud Strife (no materia besides the ones he starts with in FF7)
Master Chief
Dante (non-reboot)
Death (Darksiders 2)
Kratos (all weapons, no magic or Blade of Olympus)

Estacado
Gets to Dante atleast I think Raiden might be stronger hence that multi 1000 ton mech throwing feat but Dante is faster and has lot of other tricks.....

Azar'zer
If we gave master chief a binary rifle and a spartan laser, He could likely take raiden down from a long distance, and a smaller distance with the spartan laser, Other than that, Maybe and energy sword could take him, The rest of them. /Shrug

Estacado
There is no way Chief could beat Raiden.........Jack would one shot him with a punch......

BloodRain
Beats the first half, falls to the second.

Barely into the game and have only seen him lift MG:Ray and deflect bullets. Does it get more impressive than that?

Estacado
Raiden lifts and slams a mech that is like 10 times bigger then the one on the 1st mission then he rips off it's blade arm which is like 50 meters long weighing couple hundred tons and he uses it as a blade...

NemeBro
How strong is Death?

Estacado
His strenght feats are pretty meh........he won a small tug of war against Samael who is supposed to be the Devil's equal and that's pretty much it thought it was really minor thing Death got attacked and he blocked it then pushed him back.....but Samael doesnt have any lifting feats.....

As far as strenght feat goes I would say Raiden is above any of the listed...

NemeBro
Raiden isn't even in the same ballpark as Kratos.

Kratos could overpower him with one arm.

Estacado
Going by feats Kratos wouldn't overpower him with 1 hand......

wakkawakkawakka
Kratos not being crushed by Chronos or Atlas does seem a tad more impressive. Plus there's the fact that he won a tug-of-war game with a dude who could pull titans off a mountain.

But, that's just my take on it. As for this thread either Dante or Death beat him.

Estacado
Totally forgot that.....then he is the 2nd strongest.....

chuck inglish
Dante should've been last. Since raiden steamrolls everyone except dante

StealthRanger
Composite Kratos beats him easily

He stomps everybody else although Dante's time manipulation in DT form could be problematic

He can't even inconvenience Kratos.

Why what's Kratos's greatest strength feat?

NemeBro
His greatest quantifiable one?

Stopping the slap of a being who weighs upwards of a million tons and carries the setting of the first game on his back.

Or maybe overpowering Hades or Poseidon, who pulls Titans from off a mountain.

Perhaps stopping Atlas from crushing him?

Being sent through the side of a mountain by a volcanic eruption and landing on his feet, without even staggering, was pretty decent.

Since Theseus, Perseus, and the Last Spartan were able to harm him(Perseus and LS using only normal blades, and LS being merely human), saying Raiden can't even inconvenience him...I dunno. Some of his feats, plus the power of his blade lead me to think he could do more than inconvenience him.

thumb up
Also Raiden is phuckin fast he can easily slice people into hundreds of pieces before them even making a move...

BloodRain
To be fair Cloud could put up a good fight for having near equal speed, damage output isn't that far off. If Cloud could take a hit (no strong durability feats, bullets take him out with no regen to compensate) it could be a match.

They never harmed him.

Clears it. What people need to understand is that these guys all rely on their powers. Raiden has amazing powers. But to begin with he was an incredible soldiers, one of the best in human history. He got the highest scores in all the VR missions, was awarded the Snake codename at Foxhound, could block bullets with his katana and he defeated Solidus in combat, a perfect clone of Big Boss who was also equipped with his enhancements, as well as Vamp. He is a great soldier, swordsman, martial artist, and plus, he can use stealth.

With addition of cyborg technology he is now fast enough to dodge bullets, can ragdoll giant mechas, is almost impossible to harm due to white blood technology by Metal Gear creator DR Marv.

NemeBro
Kratos was a Spartan general and accomplished warrior before becoming the Ghost of Sparta.

It doesn't matter if they rely on their powers. Their powers allow them to easily kill Raiden.

The War Dragon
Doesn't God of War take place in medieval times? Raiden was a great soldier, perhaps the greatest, in a time period of guns and nuclear weapons, which is more powerful than anything we see in God of War. He is much better natural soldier than is Kratos.

Raiden is a great soldier, gets to use modern technology, and is one of the most powerful beings in MG canon.

Kratos is a big fish in a small pond, a pond with outdated technology and no concept of NDT.

Kratos is a big fish in a small pond, a pond with outdated technology and no concept of NDT. Pre-medieval.

More importantly, it takes place in a pond with actual deities that can lay cities to waste personally, and whose presence affects the very world, and Kratos kills them.

CosmicComet
Why is Raiden a better natural warrior than a spartan anyway, exactly?

Raiden does the things he does due to his superhuman enhancements. That's not purely skill.

On the other hand, Kratos effectively manages to wield weapons that would be impossible to wield in reality. Frigging giant daggers stuck to chains. No one could realistically wield that with the speed and flair that Kratos does without chopping themselves to ribbons.

Raiden uses an extremely simple weapon design, a single edged sword. Something Kratos has plenty of experience wielding anyway. There's very little you need to know using such a thing, because there isn't much of a mechanic needed to effectively use it.

The War Dragon
Before his superhuman enhancements Raiden was probably the greatest non superhuman soldier of all time in MG canon. Better than Big Boss, The Boss, Gray Fox, anyone. He got the highest scores in the Vr training missions, and defeated Vamp and Solidus in combat. Solidus himself was a perfect clone of Big Boss, who was arguably the greatest soldier ever up to that time, except maybe Gray Fox, and Raiden killed a superhuman enhanced Big Boss clone, not to mention Vamp, who himself tooled Snake earlier in that chapter.

NemeBro
Kratos could kill every fighter in MGS at the same time.

The War Dragon
Look at this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv3UMoZaWP8

Kratos attacks are so weak they is barely able to break wood.

NemeBro
He snapped the wood in half.
