North Korea has never not been at war with south Korea since the 50s. This is the odd diplomacy of dialogue between enemies. The north is looking to open dialogue with the US. Kim Jong un is apparently quite progressive but the generals around him aren't. This is his way of appeasing them while trying to engage America and the UN. Quite shrewd for what it's worth. Given that most media will paint it as the rantings of a crazy dictator.

Of course not. But it was more towards Rodman not learning anything more about NK than say you or me taking a tour, despite him sitting next to Jong-un during a basketball game and supposedly exchanging some words.

If the story is true, then they're retards for sending in a barely sentient man with alcoholism, they could have sent Michael Jordan, or just about anyone else who can function.

Well, they had to send someone who was (1) on the Bulls during their wonder years and (2) willing to go. Jordan wouldn't have gone because he could be treated as a visiting dignitary in much better countries than North Korea, whereas this was the best vacation that Rodman could hope for.

I know this is a terrible comparison to make, but this whole situation is, more and more, starting to remind me of a Civ match.

For anyone who plays, I'm sure you know the situation where a weaker, militaristic player is on your border, and turn by turn you see them build up and prepare to attack you, the whole time thinking "There is no way this guy is going to attack me", hoping you can keep focus on your latest tech or whatever.

Its like, this is literally the only thing they have, and day by day it becomes even less relevant, so maybe Kim goes down in flames rather than be the guy who finally got beat out by time? Its like that militaristic civ, they can't go back and reallocate all of their resources.

Why do we even have assassins if we aren't going to use them?

i have the inside scoop. my time away from KMC was spent...,well, we dont need to go there but along my journeys i travelled through, North Korea. the real reason theyre so pissed off is because theyre out of noodles and South Korea wont give them any more. China told them them that america invaded China and stole all of the noodles. This is why North Korea cant rely on them for noodles. It's china's fault, hoarding all those goddamn noodles.
