Kind of nice to see it as self contained and just touching upon the Justice League titles.

1. I wonder who dies that sets off the crossover.
2. What danger is so great that Pandora had to merge Wildstorm, Vertigo, and the main DC universe.

Some awesome art.

I typed in TW KMC on google, but nothing came up. If there is, you can merge or close.

I'm hoping Frankenstein beats down a few people. Namely Hawkman or Batman. He already did decently well against OMAC. Oh, and Beowulf to make some appearances. He's slated to be in DC Universe Presents 19.

They announced it really darn early.

It makes me kinda sad to see Constantine casually mixing with the super folks.
I mean it might avoid that, but from the promo images, so very un-Constantine like.

Isnt the woman on the ground the same woman in the background talking to flash at the end of flashpoint when he tries to set things right and creates the DCNU? Who is she and is this supposed to be the 'big event' she was hinting to? Or am I wrong?

Well that sucks lol. So not only will they break up but it is going to be a bitter one at that.

No wonder Diana is lassoing Trevor crylaugh

I didn't take that from what he said, just that when it did end, it would end badly.

Which I had always assumed it would, anyway.

JakeTheBank
Clark will be friendzoned.

-Pr-
Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

JakeTheBank
Me either.

Their relationship ending after this (if it does) just makes the whole thing feel like a gimmick designed to generate buzz and hype instead of actually penning a good comic book relationship. Johns should keep them together for at least two more full years, imo.

Agreed. though not having all of the other writers on board seems to have killed it before it could really start, imo.

That, too. I'm not a fan of Diana/Clark, but I can recognize the potential for good stories centered around them.

I really do want it to work, but only if it's done well. i'm of the opinion that there's plenty there to work with; just needs the right people on board.

"The thing about Wonder Woman and Superman is when their relationship ends, it's going to end badly. There is no good way for this one to end. "

Yea, because you can't have two mature adults break up amicably, can you? (Even if Di's no longer a diplomat)

Why is it the Sonic the Hedgehog comic handles relationships and breakups better than DC....?

Often the case.

Still, relationships lack drama when they always blow up (whatever the reason), y'know?

-Pr-
I'd honestly prefer it if it was a bad breakup. If they go the "we're better as friends" route, that will royally piss me off.

SevenShackles
Everyone I know who used to watch the JL/JLU cartoons religiously have been waiting for Diana and Bruce to hook up, most hope the relationship between her and Clark tanks and she goes for batman.. I think that idea is just seriously awkward.

It's a shame nothing really came from their relationship in terms of really good stories or otherwise..

More on topic. I know JLA is pretty much set up to take down JL but how does JLdark factor in on all this?

-Pr-
Batman should never be with anyone other than Selina Kyle. He's a worse match for Diana than Clark, imo.

It doesn't have to be easy, mind you, but they should handle it like mature adults.

Mature adults can still have a bad breakup. I dunno, I guess I just don't want it to be this polite, amicable thing. Just my preference.

You guys have any theories on what The Question's real identity might be in the DCnU?

JakeTheBank

I'm thinking he will be a historic/mythological figure (to coincide with Pandora and Phantom Stranger). Question's punishment is the fact that his identity is gone, correct? Both in the form of his face being literally blank and the fact that the world will "forget him" as will he himself.

To that end, he could be someone like Alexander the Great as others have hypothesized. And while the world didn't really forget about him, he certainly isn't on the back of everyone's mind in the modern age (and there are even some people who've never heard of him to begin with, shockingly).

Galan007
I think the interesting part is that Question is the only member of The Trinity who refused to beg for his life, as the others did. He was the only one to 'question'(no pun intended) the authority that the Circle of Eternity claimed...

"I will not beg, wizards. I defy the authority you claim!
Do what you wish to me! But if you do not kill me, I will rise to power again!
And you will fear my name as does the world!":
http://s3d3.turboimagehost.com/t/16201257_TN52FCBD2012_pg004.jpg
Geeze, he almost comes off as Lucifer-esque in his defiance.

Anyway, we know that he'd evidently amassed great power before his judgement, and that the entire world feared him. Alexander the Great is certainly possible, but I hope DC goes a little more obscure with him, personally.

-Pr-
Johns loves obscure, so I'm sure he will be.

Though I am a bit put off by wanting to kill someone off already.

Galan007
Hm, I wonder if The Question might be Caligula? Before having his face erased, he looked pretty dang similar to the real guy:
http://s3d4.turboimagehost.com/t1/16201571_2.jpg

Not only was Caligula feared, but he was also a very powerful man who fancied himself a God. Certainly his sins were grievous enough to warrant judgement at the hands of the CoE.

What's funny is that Johns will probably end up making an entirely fictional identity for The Question, and all of this hypothesizing will be for not.

JakeTheBank
Yeah, Caligula was phucking insane lol.

Good guess.

-Pr-
I just watched the Johns video about this event... Dammit, he has me far more hyped up about it than I ever thought I would be.

As far as good ongoing titles are concerned, it really depends what genre you like. Personally, I prefer a lot of the more 'obscura' comics, like:
Phantom Stranger
Justice League Dark
Animal Man
Swamp Thing

The above not only come with excellent stories, but the artwork in them is, often times, tattoo-worthy.

As far as more mainstream stuff goes, for starters I'd recommend:
Justice League
Aquaman
Flash
New Guardians

Also, you should definitely follow the event: Trinity War. It's just starting, and it is good so far.

Same with JLD, JL, and Aquaman (really good and starting to be a fan).

Was following all Lanterns stuff including Red Lanterns, but to me it got tedious and a little meh.. It's been nonstop X-over with all Lantern books. A little too much, but unavoidable since everything led up to the "First Lantern". Gonna just stick with just GL (since Hal is boss)...

Stormwatch started out with gunzblazin, but the last few months for me has been bleh (like the GL titles)..

I definitely recommend Wonder Woman. I don't know what it is, but for me this has been the best DCnU title I've followed. I'm sticking with this baby. It reminds me of Gillen's run on Thor (to me was always underrated), but dare I say it?! Even better! I'm just lovin the evolving soap opera with the gods.. Just like how I envisioned Greek mythology as a child, disfunctional as hell!! On top of that, we have a recurring character in Orion who is not completely mindless. Trully bad@$$ version (Thor Like), but with his own identity.. Frukin awesome series...

celeyhyga17
Highly recommend Superman Unchained also.. Two issues in and I think it blows the other Superman titles out of the water!

Unchained Superman seems more cerebral to me since he is constantly having these internal monologues on how he would deal with situations.
It's open for the reader to see what goes on inside his head before he acts or reacts to any given situation.
The way it's executed is just awesome.

marwash22
I'm current on JL and JLA, do i need to read JLDark for this?

Galan007
Yes. It's part of the main storyline.

marwash22
i know it's gonna have 2 issues as part of the crossover. I wanna know if I'm really missing out on key details by not reading all of the issues that predate JLD's role in Trinity War.

i really don't wanna. I don't have an interest in any of those characters. sad

Galan007
Oh as far as just the Trinity War issues are concerned, there's absolutely no need for you to read anything before today's issue (#22.) It's the only tie-in so far.

I like Lobdell's Supes, but I'm not sure if its because the penciler suits Superman so damn much

Galan007
Constantine #5 was very good and informative.

Constantine was able to momentarily usurp the power of Shazam from Billy-- however, he had to trick Billy into powering down to his human form first. After becoming Shazam, Constantine was only able to contain those magics for like 5 pages-- in fact, he made several remarks on how tremendously hard it was from him to control that much power w/o being killed by it. Clearly the Shazam magics are no joke if Constantine himself can barely manage to manipulate them without dying.

Constantine also told Billy that Pandora's Box is, essentially, a 'global bomb'. If Billy touches the Box, the proverbial fuse lights, and the countdown begins.

marwash22
i liked part 3. but goddammit, now i wanna read JLD... then I'll probably have to read Constantine. sad
