Damn. Seems a little late now, but this should probably be handled one tier at a time. Getting pretty ugly with the tallying process.

My 2 cents for what it's worth: The Mid-Herald group is pretty broken. Most of those characters are generally considered HH on these boards. I don't really think anyone thinks of anyone as a mid-herald. Either the herald tier should be better defined (with HH being more exclusive than generally regarded), or most of the mid-herald players need to move.

PS: There's even some mid-heralds that I would consider Trans

PPS: If you really want to do this right, you could create an Excel spreadsheet with every character. Assign #s to tiers (e.g. Low street = 1, mid street = 2, etc). Let people fill it in as they see fit (don't need to assign a ranking to every character since most people aren't all that familiar with every character, copy/paste them all into a master list, and average it out).

On one hand, I'd rather keep Iron Man and Aquaman as benchmarks for the high-meta tier, with somebody like Magneto a benchmark for low-heralds. On the other hand, the line between these two is so thin , that I'm not so sure.

My 2 cents for what it's worth: The Mid-Herald group is pretty broken. Most of those characters are generally considered HH on these boards. I don't really think anyone thinks of anyone as a mid-herald. Either the herald tier should be better defined (with HH being more exclusive than generally regarded), or most of the mid-herald players need to move.

PS: There's even some mid-heralds that I would consider Trans

PPS: If you really want to do this right, you could create an Excel spreadsheet with every character. Assign #s to tiers (e.g. Low street = 1, mid street = 2, etc). Let people fill it in as they see fit (don't need to assign a ranking to every character since most people aren't all that familiar with every character, copy/paste them all into a master list, and average it out).



We should make this like the church does when trying to canonize a person.

Present the evidence for or against and then judges can decide based on that.

That will bring a lot of light about the characters and the battlezone will be pretty busy.

If you want to prove that someone should be at a certain level, create a VS thread with them - ideally against someone of a higher/same level if you want to move them up or lower/same if you want to move them down - and prove your case there.

You keep spamming the thread and it's just going to devolve into a thousand pages of bickering. I'd actually like this tier system to get updated. Each time you deviate from that is another reason the Mods have for closing the thread and throwing the idea away.

This is what tier I think they are in.

I haven't read everything, and I'm indifferent on various votes, but on the other thread's discussion of creating a Skyfather tier:

The definition of the Trans. tier makes an attempt at a Skyfather tier tricky. Because technically Trans. was created to go up to Odin (but not include him). Technically entire pantheons should be in Trans. but we omitted them because it muddied the waters and nobody really cared. So to actually create a Skyfather tier - that includes characters as powerful as the other pantheon heads - you'd have to dip into Trans. a little bit. You'd also have to redefine Trans. so that its upper limit is at a different point.

Otherwise, Odin would theoretically be the weakest of the Skyfather tier. It makes sense to cap the tier at him, but that would require redrawing the lines on Trans.

Just some food for thought. If you turkeys are committed to this, I might as well give a little guidance here and there.

couldnt you make the skyfather tier be solely those individuals who are Odins equals? with no lows or highs while the trans tier be split into two subcats.

Maybe. But I feel like having ONLY Odin's equals in a tier would make for a relatively small, pointless tier. My point was just that the earlier discussion wasn't taking everything into account, and there would need to be some re-drawing of lines, so to speak, unless you want a tier with literally no more than 5-12 characters in it, or tiers whose definitions are contradictory.
