These two powerful, but emotionally unbalanced, characters battle to the Death or KO with no BFR allowed...who wins?

Classic Korvac stomps.

MM had his hands full with a crappy Avengers team. Korvac was winning against a large group consisting of Avengers and the GotG.

... huh? ... Owen killed all of them effortlessly. (including Sentry 3 times)

He was even toying with Osborne (mind phukin) simultaneously
while meticulously murdering them. Owen also destroyed Victoria's space fleet.

Owen also re-created all of them (including the fleet) & the country
with a thought,
while Sentry had a hold of his molecules.

*** note ... In the story,
Owen didn't want anything more than that piece of land (his hometown)
he wasn't interested in fighting anyone, but he defended himself.

According to his creations (aspects of his subconscious given life)
he wanted to lose, even though he was winning.
Owen also said, he just wanted to be left alone and didn't wanna hurt anyone,
but they still came at em.

Korvac wins.

Korvac ended his own life when he lost faith in his mission because of his GF's doubt.

Korvac faced off vs a way more impressive lineup of Avengers than MM did :

^^ Way ta go on posting a single pic that omits like 90% of the story for Owen,
but you conveniently through in the reasons why Korvac lost,
and ignored why Owen is getting taken by Sentry.

Anyway ...

Owen was unstoppable in Dark Avengers, he killed many heroes,
disintegrated the battle fleet assisting the heroes,
mind raped Norman (via molecules) & re-arranged a section of the country,
created his own copies of Mephisto, Enchantress, Beyonder, & Dormy
shattered Sentry's molecules 3 separate times (owned)
and finally brought everyone back to life, & fixed the countryside with a thought.

Sentry (after re-generating for the 3rd time) caught Owen off-guard
while Owen was stopping a missile shot at him from a plane he thought was a nuke.

While Sentry has definitely developed an upgrade,
he still won via a stipulation cause while Owen was focused on him
he was getting owned.

That and the fact that Owen,
wanted to fail according to the friends he created,
who were an image of his sub-conscious.

Other than that,
Owen was tossing Sentry's molecules around like birthday confetti.

So yea, Sentry had control of mentally unstable Owen's molecules at the end,
but how did this happen? hm

Oh yea, that Sentry scene comes after the stipulation here:



That's Owen, he had just obliterated Sentry for the third time,
and he was surprised by a nuke shot at him from a jet,
as he diverted his attention, Sentry re-formed and took control of his molecules.

Funny though, earlier on right before the second decimation,
Owen clearly pointed out that as long as he was holding onto Sentry's molecules,
Sentry couldn't hurt him:

The Nuke distracting him is a perfect ploy to Plot in Owen's defeat.

It ties in excellently with his statement right above.

Sentry finally getting a hold of distracted mentally unstable Owen's molecules
happened after Owen stomped Sentry three times before:


1) Owen (from a significant distance) stomps Sentry

2) This time Owen teleports to where Sentry is, and stomps him again:

3) On this third occasion, Sentry got the surprise jump on Owen,
and Owen still, withstood the attack, and stomped Sentry yet again.








Then as I presented above, came the surprise nuke that distracted Owen,
diverting his attention elsewhere while Sentry re-fromed again and this time
taking control of distracted Owen's molecules.

PIS perfect to finally end the tale.

Sentry winning was PIS. Because he just suddenly developed molecular manipulation because the writers wanted him to. Then he didn't even have the power a few issues later. It was just so he could win that one fight.

I gotta admit, Sentry beating Owen was pure PIS; there is no way anyone can say that Sentry's win wasnt very very VERY circumstancial...

If Owen really wanted to win and wasnt sabotaging himself, Owen would have scattered him and made sure he stayed that way...

this shouldn't even be talked about.. Classic Korvac stomps, beats down, kills, mains, murders etc

The heroes Own beat paled in sheer number and power compared to the ones Korvac took on.

You mention that Owen just wanted to be left alone, well so did Korvac and he even stated it pained him to fight but they left him no choice.

You mention the surprise nuke and catching Owen unaware, well that doesn't really help Owen's cause. Korvac, even if he left his guard down, COULD NOT BE KILLED by that entire assembly of Avengers and GotG, Starhawk even stated this.

Yet a high herald, Sentry, took Owen's @$$ out.

Korvac's got this.

Sentry took MM down by spontaneously gaining his exact powers on a higher scale after MM took him down a few times with no effort. Just because he's Sentry and they needed him to win. Anything with Sentry in it is dumb when he wins.

I understand your point Zop, but I never even commented on who wins this,
my complaint was directed at you stating "MM had his hands full with a crappy Avengers team"

Which isn't accurate. At all.

I know the Korvac stories well. (616 & What If & Future)
Owen & Korvac are similar in certain ways personality wise.
Korvac couldn't be killed, but HIS FORM COULD BE DESTROYED!
Owen can't be killed either! ... although I wouldn't say his form can't be shattered
just like Sentry, and then Owen can re-form just like Sentry I'm sure.

Heck, in that final scene,
Sentry admits he doesn't even know how to control molecules like Owen,
he's requesting a lesson while holding onto Owen's molecules,
Owen proceeds to re-create everything he killed and destroyed.

... wait ... This ... now that I look at it clearly, is laughable.

Also ...
I love how that silly missile was enough to distract Owen so much
that Sentry got a hold of his molecules.

But just prior Owen was creating different realities in Osborne's head (mind phuckin)
while holding a conversation with Victoria Hand,
Owen then sensed Sentry re-forming many miles away and teleported there,
Owen then exploded Sentry for the second time,
then Owen returns to his conversation with Victoria
and NEVER stopped mind phucking Osborne the entire time,
then Sentry re-forms a 2nd time and appears where Owen and Victoria are talking
and attacks Owen point blank, but Owen withstands the furious attack easily
and explodes Sentry a 3rd time.

That's some multi-tasking if you ask me.

vs.

Now Owen is NOT mind phuckin Osborne,
and he's NOT talking to Victoria, since he's defending himself against Sentry,
and so Now it's just him and Sentry ... Owen again easily explodes Sentry,
a single missile is shot at Owen from a plane, which he stops,
but it's enough to occupy his mind so
that Sentry re-forms that 3rd time and sneakily takes control of Owen.

ka-dur ... doesn't make sense to me either, but oh well.

MM wins.

clearly, void wasnt meant to be low trans in that arc and then there are the circumstances master posted for owen's defeat.

still, that was far from the best MM portrayal and korvac wins IMO.
