Superman vs Flash and Wonder Woman

WW is not his equal that's that has been established. Though based on JL2, Superman was able to tag Flash and nearly knocked him out with a flick of a finger.

quanchi112
Team, hard.

-Pr-
Team wins, most likely, though the ease depends on Superman's mental state.

I don't know what Barry is up to in his ongoing, so I can't comment on him being able to do something to someone on Superman's level besides annoy him. All I know is that all it takes for Superman to put him down is to tag him once, and he has shown he can do this.

Diana on the other hand often gets lip-service as Superman's peer. Featwise she cannot compete though. Her lasso is not the one hit Wonder it used to be. She should remove her bracers from the get go if she wants to stand a chance IMO. Better yet she should just flash him and spread her legs. Sure win right there.

Still I think as a team they might do it...somehow. Maybe I'm just being generous.

eaebiakuya
Diana has any feat on Superman level (speed, strengh or durability)?

From your post Zack, Superman should win with mid-difficulty.

Zack Fair
None that I can recall, but I haven't read her last 3 issues, so maybe she has come up with something although it is unlikely. Her book is more about story/characters than doing insane shit.

eaebiakuya
I read her book too. I thought she might have feats from JLA.

Zack Fair
In JLA she has broken Hal Jordan's bubble shield with a kick and had a shared feat of holding back a massive tsunami flood with a cruiser. Those 2 are the first to come to mind. She might have more.

abhilegend
Superman wins.

chipguy_okay
Going by story and hype the duo would win easily enough because WW is a close peer of Superman in most areas, and Flash is the fastest with the ability to annoy + disrupt + speed force dump.

Going by feats Superman wins comfortably, although they will make him work for it if their team-work is perfect.

Zack Fair
Does 52 Barry have the speed force, and has he dumped anyone in it? I wonder what he has been doing in the last year.

chipguy_okay
He has it. He dumped Grodd back in time so a Mammoth could run him over.

Zack Fair
LOL WTF.

That is nice thumb up

What else has he done? How is the Flash ongoing? Worth it?

chipguy_okay
if you are just buying it individually I would not bother unless you really liked Barry. The early issues are quite good regardless, but not so much lately. I order all the 52 comics in a bundle and get a bit of a discount.

Barry can vibrate somewhat, do the whole speed force tornado thing, and mostly that is it. He has standard flash feats but less so than pre-flashpoint. Nothing special.

ares834
Superman wins.

Wonder Woman's solo book, while awesome, doesn't present many awesome feats. Supes book by contrast...

Diana kicked Superman and gave him a bloody lip, proving that her normal level of force is enough to both affect and damage him physically.

Diana knocked out DCnU Kara (aka 52 Supergirl) despite Kara using her (usually) winning re-charge maneuver, with a power tackle/dive to the ground. Kara was completely overwhelmed when the fight got serious.

Diana beat the goddess Artemis after getting pissed and removing her bracelets, as alluded to before.
Artemis's brother Apollo treated her with quite a bit of respect after THAT point, though, before, when her true power was restrained by those bracers, Apollo was talking down to her and throwing her a beating.
Diana is definitely capable of performing at a higher level than she typically shows.

As for Lantern constructs, though, far more impressive than the quoted kick Zack describes is the breaking of a second construct later in that same fight.

She more or less flexed herself free in that instance ...

Apologies for any double messages; been having some severe problems with my Internet these past few hours.

The image shown a post or so ago is obviously the flex-out/construct breaking scene I was alluding to.

Here's a URL link and some reference information for that particular scene in case my other post did not go through:

Team wins hard. If flash do not want superman to touch him, he wont. Wonder Women is more than capable of harming superman. Hundreds of characters have tagged others that would make them look like a statue IF they wanted to.

It's a glorious fight, but I don't see Superman inching out any wins unless he has a bloodlust advantage.

-Pr-
Diana has been able to hurt Superman since long before the reboot, so it's not like it's news or anything.

bluewaterrider
PR, if you have the time, could you post the tsunami/flood/cruiser scene Zack was talking about? I vaguely remember seeing something like that online, but it was many weeks ago now, and, unfortunately, my collection of current Justice League adventures is woefully incomplete ...

abhilegend
Nice to leave out the context that kara drained herself by releasing a solar blast just before Diana KOED her.

Now that I think of it, Wonder Woman #20 probably offers a better hint of the "level up" Diana can, theoretically, perform at will.

Here, for reasons I have not yet been able to explore myself
(just stumbled across the scene a few minutes ago),
she decides to confront Artemis yet again, yet for some reason restrains herself from going "godmode".

Artemis comments on the difference in physical strength she enjoys over Diana under THAT condition ...

bluewaterrider
It's worth noting, just the same, how Diana's fight skill makes up for Artemis's (ordinarily) superior strength. Diana has more than power to back her up IF it comes down to it ...

Fairly certain I've discovered the reason now.

Just read the following on DC's wiki, which describes the scene I just posted to a "T",
and likewise fits in with what's been happening and discussed in the magazine's story arc as a whole:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

" As they fight, Artemis challenges Diana to remove her Bracelets of Submission, but the Amazon refuses, explaining that she must wear them in order to contain her power, for the sake of the innocent mortals. As Artemis' power brings destruction to the streets of London, Lennox rushes Hera, Zola, and Zeke down into the tube, annoyed that once again, he is stuck playing nursemaid.

Artemis continues to goad Diana into using the full extent of her power, as the Amazon loops her Lasso around her. Rather than use her own power against Artemis, she uses the lasso to reverse the moon goddess' power against her, channelling her momentum. She swings Artemis hard into the ground, disorienting her. Collapsed on the ground, Artemis warns Diana that failure to use the power she was given is the same as abusing it, and if she tries to contain it, it will explode in her face ... "

Questions:

1) Is it just me, or is Superman's costume ... glowing in some parts?
Like, the yellow ribbons coming from the shield crest, and ... blue nanotech forming near his shirt collar? I'm guessing the outfit is now more than even Kryptonian cloth (which would be just a more durable form of "Earth" cloth in most storytellings)?

2) Am I the only one that thinks Lois Lane and Diana look like the same person, just in different outfits?

3) Where in the world did a tidal wave like that come from? Did Arthur try to flood the surface world away again, like he did in Flashpoint? I saw him punch the crap out of Superman in some scene posted in the Ownage thread; was he a villain for this short arc again?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Comment:

Don't know if it conforms to truly "stopping a tsunami" or however Zack phrased it, but that scene does appear fairly impressive.
In the context of that story at least, Wonder Woman and Superman look like roughly equal contributors and roughly equally strong.

Thanks, PR!

-Pr-
1 & 2 can just be attributed to the art, but yes, his suit is Kryptonian in origin now. You'll find that Diana and Mera look alike but for their hair colouring too.

3. Atlantis is attacking the surface because someone (if you want to spoil it, it's Vulko) used human weapons to attack Atlantis. So Ocean Master, who is King of Atlantis at the time, decides to attack the surface out of retaliation. Atlantis attacks by flooding cities, and then sending their armies to the most badly affected ones.

Np.

A lot of people haven't seen the "godmode" Diana people are referencing.

Here's the scene Zack kept alluding to:

(image 1 of 2)

This episode, strangely enough, long preceded Wonder Woman #20.

Usually power upgrades are introduced fairly late in an arc. I suspect it will be a fairly prominent feature toward the close of the run.
