Jim Colyer
I was twenty-five and out of the army
Jack Daniels had me by the balls
Living like there was no tomorrow
Wasting my money on alcohol

She wouldn't serve me another drink
It was two o'clock at Sahara East
I knocked all the glasses off the bar
She called the cops as I hit the street

Half Drunk & Half Crazy
That's how I lived my life
Didn't wanna work, too damn lazy
That kind of man don't need a wife

I stopped in the liquor store, bought a half pint
George Dickel had a hold on me
I hitched a ride to Montgomery's house
Somebody said she had a thing for me

When I arrived, there was a new boy friend
I blew my top and called her a whore
Her mother hit me, we rolled in the yard
She kicked my ass, I went home sore

Half Drunk & Half Crazy
That's how I lived my life
Didn't wanna work, too damn lazy
That kind of man don't need a wife

I hit the backroads with some teenage kids
Ezra Brooks had me in his grip
Two much whiskey on a cold dark night
I drove my car into a ditch

I flagged a Greyhound on the main highway
I found those kids at the Burger Queen
My dad got a wrecker and towed my car
My girl friend, she was just sixteen

Half Drunk & Half Crazy
That's how I lived my life
Didn't wanna work, too damn lazy
That kind of man don't need a wife

Looking back on my drinking years
I bet I drank five thousand beers

Solo

Half Drunk & Half Crazy
That's how I lived my life
Didn't wanna work, too damn lazy
That kind of man don't need a wife
