Project Loon is a research and development project being developed by Google with the mission of providing Internet access to rural and remote areas using high-altitude balloons placed in the stratosphere at an altitude of about 20 km (12 mi) to create an aerial wireless network with up to 3G-like speeds.

Seems like a crazy idea. Sounds good in theory. But in practice, I dunno.

I like the idea a lot. Google at its best, imo.

The only part I don't like about the idea is all the plastic that's going to be used. I hope they reuse the balloons.

I don't see a company like Google wasting that much money on plastic. They would save money from reusing.
