I assume this is Tao back when he was actually interesting, and didn't have the reality warping BS.

Anyways, Uncanny Avengers was a little disappointing to me. I haven't read all of it, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Tao's ideal leader is probably himself, so he might see through John's ruse. Even if John resists Tao's voice, Tao can actually fight. John can't.

If the powers cancel out, Tao could totally just beat the shit out of John in h2h.
