Mirror Shield: Doesn't it only absorb magic, or does it apply to all forms of energy?

Four Sword: Samus is used to taking on duplicates. Shouldn't be too much of a problem.

To clarify, I'm not taking sides. This is actually a tough one for me.

Defense, to knock away the seeker missiles. I doubt they could really damage Samus in her armour, though they could probably knock her around. The galerang in particular would be good for this. With four Links I could see it being hellish to actually get a missile through there.

Doubt they would really do any damage. They seldom do, if at all. As far as the galerang is concerned, doesn't Samus' suit in base form cancel out g-force, inertia, shit like that?

Power beam alone isn't gonna do it. As for the Triforce, it's still subject to speculation, but you're probably right about that. For the sake of the battle, he won't start with it, as COG suggested. Depending on the length of the battle, Samus will blow up the planet, Link will summon the Triforce, or both.

I'm hardly the only one to have thought about this. I'm almost certain Scenario's considered Samus descending from Link as possible too, and others must've. They share a certain look and tenacity, the comparison is hard not to draw. Feel free to work on it.

I may pick it up myself. I know what I'd want to happen if I did, but putting the words in order is the hard part.

I couldn't really contribute to the characters, never really played enough of either of these guys but I'd be willing to help with in other areas.

I feel ya. I have a vocabulary for writing, but I can never fully line everything out. I know where I want to go with things, but I never know where to start or how to get there. I feel this idea would best be done collaboratively.

Then I recommend you play them. Nintendo has such great material with so much potential for deep storytelling that they never seem to fully capitalize on. Regardless, the franchises are timeless, and you shouldn't miss out any further.

The gameplay was fun(to me), the narrative could have used some work but it wasn't all that bad. Whoever wrote it just needs to realize that people can infer things and don't need to be flat out shown or told things in a story to understand. I never got it because of the apprehension I bore due to what I knew about it. Many pass the story off as character derailment. Even I've been guilty of that, but your description seems more accurate. I already knew deep down that Samus was lonely. I just don't like the way they showed it. I felt it had the narrative quality and execution of a tween drama, and that alone basically forced me away from it. I never was completely sure though.

You should read the metroid manga, it will make you understand what they were trying to do in the story and why they failed to convey it properly. There was only one part of Other M i had a problem with. Once you read the manga you'll see what i mean. Anyway it's a good game, don't dismiss it. I have a complete playthrough i could upload if i were convinced to do so.

Other M's gameplay was very, very solid. It's just the writing didn't treat Samus as well as I think she deserved.

I looked deeper into it. I doubt I'll get it based simply on the poor narrative (that I hope to God is later considered non-canon). Call me stubborn, absurd, whatever, but I don't think a game is worth getting simply for it's gameplay alone. If I'm shooting aliens, stabbing dudes in the face, or blowing shit up, I want to have a good reason for doing it. I want to feel my time invested is met with a more rewarding experience.

This is one of the most hilarious and creative debates I've seen.

Can't Phazon just **** with time and space. Doesn't her PED suit allow her to shoot phazon.

Super bombs and freeze gun for the win...that and as long Samus side jumps everywhere link will be stuck blocking unless he uses magic then Samus has big problem...she can take fire and ice but links Nayru's love makes him invincible however he can still be pushed back...this could go on for a long time if link got blue potions...

those gifs of Samus having precog like abilities and dodging gunfire and beam weapons AFTER they are fired, that's some delicious stuff right there. I suppose it takes some good reactions to run around at Mach+ speed while shinesparking to not kill everything forever.

What a fun thread this was.

The Haloid dance off brings a somber tone to the proceedings now. Monty was a cool guy.

Rooting for Samus. She seems like a swell gal when she isn't Other M-ing it up.

Cringes at the mention of Other M.

That game even getting the amount of content/attention that it did in Smash was a disgrace.

Other M was really fun. You're all haters. The story did disservice to Samus' character, but the game itself was really fun.

Never said I didn't like the gameplay or anything. It had its moments (especially compared to other games as controversial or hated) but unfortunately the bad of it outweighed the good; by how much is debatable.

Ok. The way i see it is samus has alot of different ways to shoot, smash or blow link up. Link has a sufficient amount of ways to do that to samus, but he also comes some haxy stuff that samus wouldn't be able to defend against.

I thought the only hax link has is the Shield defense?

If you coint stoping time or aging samus in to an 98 year old women a shield defense, then ok.

Question is does the armor Samus wear protects her from such attacks.

It doesn't have to. Once link takes her to the dark world she'll become an orange flamingo or something. Without chozo dna the suit won't work anymore.

(A) She has Chozo DNA.
(B) I've personally never heard of Link being able to age someone to death. Even then, I've never heard of him fighting in such a manner.
(C) To my knowledge, Samus has never held off (purported) time manipulation.
(D) It wouldn't be the first "dark world" Samus has been to. That said, I'm not sure what that entails, admittedly.

Even after all this time, I'm still of the belief that this match-up can't be definitively settled. haermm

Well Sacred Fire I am gone and I will be deleting the Wikia.

A) she has chozo dna but turning into another species kinda messes with that , doesn't it.
B) Ironicaly, he's only ever done it to birds.
C) I've only played fusion and the first prime so I'm not a hundred percent either.
D) yes, but this dark world used to house the triforce and is constantly being warped by ganon's evil.
