Latest of the 15 minute block style of animations produced by Cartoon Network nowadays. Created by Rebecca Sugar, who worked on Adventure Time before this.



The overall lore caught my attention, and I've seen the first five or so episodes in the hopes of that being expanded. So far only bits and pieces, but I'll keep track of it for now.

Stevens a little annoying. But I like the other characters.

Yeah, Garnet is pretty boss. She's my fav. I like all the Gems though. Pearl pulls the best faces and Amethyst is a cool chick.

I also really like the Frybo kid though. Man, that kid is way to young to already understand life so much. haermm

Garnet is awesome yes. I want them to eventually elaborate more on Steven's mom, and how he ended up with a Gem.

It makes sense why Garnet is so awesome to me now. And her VA is a rapper/singer.

I like cats, but having them form from my body is a bit much, even for me.

That made me gag near the end.

Steven's pretty clever. Not sure I could come up with a song about a giant woman. The musical accompaniment in this show, I'm really enjoying it.

And then I watched the latest episode...HOLY CRAP, THAT WAS TERRIFYING! Just...thinking yourself into old age rapidly like that. The concepts that this show brings up are pretty out there sometimes.

Steven's a good kid. He really is, he's growing on me.

He's such a sweet kid and probably my fav followed by Pearl. Steven has a well of sadness in him but choose to look at the happier side of life.

I would like Pearl, but she's just a little too stuck up for me to really appreciate her. I hope all the gems can get some decent character development. They do a damn good job of showing how much they all care about Steven, though.

Highlight of the episode was the Scrooge McDuck reference. That was just awesome.

New day and time for the show. Pretty vicious episode.

New episodes coming out soon on the Thursday block. I'm personally excited to see its return, and looking forward to what tidbits I've heard about. Especially Garnet and Amehyst's fusion, which is apparently going to be voiced by Nicki Minaj?

Watch the show on and off occasionally (Mostly with my sister, who loves it), and it's pretty decent. Pearl is best gem fite me.

Regardless of who the best gem is out of Pearl or Garnet, I'm sure we can all agree that Amethyst is worst gem.

I dont actively watch the show, but when i've seen it i always smile.

I hate Clarence with a passion. Beyond being annoying, he's just stupid most of the time. He finds a mountain lion and the park ranger is like, "Okay. It doesn't know we're here. I'm gonna tranquilize it, put it back where it belongs. Clarence has the brilliant idea to yell at the thing trying to talk to it. Because he can't allow him to get tranqued or something. I haaaate that show.

What a fantastic episode. Answered a ton of questions and opened a ton more up.

Also f*ck Lars so much. What a raging shitheel.

That's how you know they did it right. As soon as stuff starts making sense, they chuck another curveball at you.

And yeah Lars treats Sadie so bad. It's clear she wants him.

Joking Victim made is pretty clear that theres something between them but that Lars is a complete tool despite it. Poor Sadie.

So, Greg isn't exactly the best father figure, though it's no surprise. He at least owns up to his mistakes, though.

Edit: And yeah, Lars is the scum of the Earth.

Finally some animation for Rose Quartz. Damn, she was a big woman, that was refreshing to see.

She was tall as hell. But she was big because she was preggers.

I was referring to her height as well. She had to be at least as tall as Garnet.

I believe she was taller than Garnet. As she looked pretty high above Greg and that was before he got all short, pudgy and slouchy.

I hate this show... So, so much. It just bores me, much like Squidbillies annoys me.

What about it bores you? Is the presentation slow? Do you not like the characters? By all means, elaborate.

This show keeps throwing these existential crises at me one after the other. First Steven accepting death outside the warp tunnel because even though he'd proved his point, he figured his death was an inevitability because he himself couldn't stop it, and mentioning how he was going to die alone(like everybody does).

That whole thing with Stevonnie. And then the future sight making him paranoid to the point of passive suicide(not killing himself but allowing whatever potentially fatal thing to happen because he couldn't know what was about to happen). It's much deeper than I anticipated it to be when it started.

It touches on a lot of surprisingly serious subjects. The latest episode heavily implies that Amythest has feeling for Greg, and tricked him into something intimate by shaleshifting into Rose Quartz. It blew me away, really.

Just, everything about it, I like stuff that can kick in my nostalgia, or stuff thats of really cool Fantasy Lore, or just stuff that I think is funny. Regular Show, Adventure Time, I love both of those. I hate Uncle Grandpa, Gumball, Steven Universe, etc. I also think Teen Titans Go is pretty good

Gumball's brand of humor makes it the best show on CN in terms of pure comedy.

Not sure if anyones been following the Stevenbomb this week, but this show is probably the best cartoon running atm. So, so good.

I only watch Steven universe when adventure time or gum ball is next

I'm so conflicted on them meeting Peridot and the other "evil" gems. Lapis Lazuli didn't seem to be a part of that entity, but all those gems at the Kindergarten...all the gems back on the homeworld? Sooooo much stuff going on. Also he and Connie's relationship is handled really well.

I kind of understand how you feel. There was a lot that happened all at once. Remember, though, Lapis wanted to go back to the gem homeworld. It makes sense her arrival led to the way everything turned out. I think the overload was intentional, too, or if not it certainly gave me some empathy. Could be because I watched it back to back, though. I love how they handled Steven's growing concern and conflicting feelings. Felt very real to me.

I'm about to backtrack and watch that whole episode over at least three more times. I honestly never thought to question why Garnet had two gems all this time, but this reveal explained it so smoothly. It definitely explains her pure, utter joy when she saw Stevonnie. A creator actually confirmed that Sapphire and Ruby are a couple. Cartoon Network has it's own KorraSami.

Does that even count, though? From the sound of their voices and most mannerisms, it seems like Gems are an androgynous species with a feminine lean.

Well Rose Quartz gave birth; the process wasn't exactly similar to humans, but the fact that she gave birth indicates clearly to me at least that the Gems are girls. While the Gems consider themselves genderless, they're all clearly female with the exception of Jasper...who is still a woman, just a really buff one.

But they've stated repeatedly that Steven's "birth" was a metamorphosis. It's not gone into detail, but they've also made it clear that it wasn't a natural thing. Steven's the first of his kind. It's why Jasper wanted to take him to the gem homeworld.

Speaking of that, anyone else curious what Yellow Diamond must be like?

This show has really come into its own somewhat recently. It was an all right watch before, but the fleshing out of the myth arc and the Gem homeworld has made it great. I need to get fully caught up.

The mystery of the Gems and their lore are what got interested in the first place. If you go in expecting a piecemeal progression like early Adventure Time, then you won't be frustrated as episodes don't answer questions. I first saw Steven as some basic, traditionally stupid child character. Now I know he's anything but, and I like that. A lot. Still a child, but definitely his own, individual person.

I'm still not a fan of Uncle Grandpa, but the non-canon April Fool's crossover was actually pretty enjoyable.

I hate Uncle Grandpa. But he and Mr. Gus dropped some real wisdom, plus they acknowledged the fan base with the gemsonas and the Gems freaking was hilarious.

Steven playing level headed straight man for a change was gold.

Want to see a crossover with every show on the list. Especially Swat Cats and Adventure Time (Mostly for Uncle Grandpa vs Magic Man. Come to think of it, Finn would probably assume UG IS Magic Man in disguise.)

I love it when Steven and Connie work together.

Episode's got a new intro, and it looks like things are starting to kick into high gear. Connie trains with Pearl, Greg meets Stevonnie, and we see more of Rose Quartz, including a new fusion! Great stuff, really.

Pearl is really starting to concern me. She's losing the ability to differentiate Steven from his mom and she's done/let some really f*cked up stuff happen.

She's getting better imo. All the gems were traumatized by Rose's passing, that takes a long time to get passed. She's certain the most damaged of the gems though.

She's better in some ways, worse in others. It's kinda like one step forward = two steps back. But her being upset is no excuse for what she did before or after Rose's death due to her Larfleeze-esque level of jealousy regarding her. Garnet and Amethyst were shaken up as well, but they soldiered on and they do right by Steven. Pearl on the other hand has shown herself to be petty, jealous, and all sorts of other unhealthy emotions when it comes to any mention or thought of Rose.

She basically f*cked/fused Rose just to show off to Greg about what he couldn't do with her or for her. She told Rose several times he was no good, not good enough for her because he was taking Rose's attention.

She was brainwashing Connie into thinking she was simply a tool to be used in Steven's defense.

She allowed Steven to die. Sounds weird, but that episode where she found out he basically had full access to his mothers armory, she freaked out. And when he chased her, making a jump he had no business making, she knew he could have died and she just sat there while he scrambled up those roots to save his own life.

Even way back when she was so determined to get back to Home World she kinda forced him into space with her in a ship that would have killed him.

She's also been pretty mean to him at times, like telling him he didn't even know Rose and stuff like that.


From the beginning Rose is Steven's main "Mom", yet also the one who treats him the worst and allows bad things to happen because she misses Rose and he reminds her of what she lost. She was closest to Rose, I get that. But she needs serious help. I see her snapping one of these days and either trying to hurt Steven, letting someone try and hurt him, or delusionally thinking of him as his mom and trying to grope him up or something.

Possibly the best Stevenbomb so far. Peridot is just such a great character.

I just saw the leaks. It's hard to imagine how this show could possible get any gayer than this.

Also season 3 is set to be amazing. I love how it turns out that Lapis actually acts like the fandom predicted her to act. "Bob" was hilarious. And Peridot continues to have the best lines and just be the best thing on the show.

Really? I've only recently caught up with the show, despite having seen it when it first aired.

Anyway, I personally didn't really like Andy that much either, but I definitely felt like I knew why he was the way he was, you know? He was really just trying to run away from his family, because he had lost so much, and didn't want to have a family again for fear of losing them as well. I also love the fact that he was voiced by the same guy that voiced Carl in Aqua teen hunger force.

I really loved the episode overall though. I think it really solidified the bond between Lapis and Peridot, as well as ease a large portion of the tension between Lapis and the other gems. I also liked having another episode that kind of took a break from the plot for a bit, you know? I'm definitely excited to get back on track with the gem war, and the actual plot of the show, but a break every once in a while helps keep the cast more casual, I think.

Just my thoughts, lol.
