Which characters can legitimately hang a tier above their official status?

Mid Herald

High Herald

Low Trans

Mid Trans

Counting jobber auras? Wolverine. biscuits

Diana/CM/Doom/Hercules

Thor/Supes/Surfer/Hulk

Trans isn't really split up and none are fighting skyfathers outside of Destroyer Armor.

Most iconic or overused characters will qualify. There's just too many showings for them NOT to have a few where they transcend their normal limits. Thor, Surfer, Kal, Hulk, Wolverine, Spidey, Batman, etc. all apply.
