Lets say Vader reaches his full potential, whacks Sidious, becomes Emperor, and regenerates his limbs, lungs and skin with Cade's dark transfer technique.

This is Luke at FoTJ power levels.

They are both equals in power.

Intrepid37
Luke rapes.

NTJack0
Impossible to tell.

lol at Luke raping though.

Intrepid37
lol at your ugly face though.

Luke rapes. How so?

Not only are they equal in power level, Vader is physically healthier, younger, stronger, better stamina, has Force rage and possibly oneness with the dark side, and a better tactician.

All Luke has is form mimicry and form shatterpoint - which does him no good here as Anakin is no longer a cyborg and therefore his form V style is back to the more motile form he used to break Dooku in ROTS.

As for Force powers, Anakin has the advantage of being able to use dark side techniques like Sith lightning - which is stronger than Jedi lightning (Darth Plagueis).

Vader is also more experienced as a Jedi and Sith (Jedi Quest-ROTJ), on top of being younger and stronger physically.

Intrepid37
This is mechanic Vader potential or Anakin's full potential before getting burned?

Vader wins.

Vader at "full potential" (a level he never came even close to achieving) is probably the most powerful force user in the mythos.

Luke is strong too, but I think that his potential is diluted more from having Anakin/Padme as parents. Schmi may not have been a force user, but Anakin's daddy is the force itself.

Ragnos is testament to how it took interbreeding with humans a long time before the Force sensitivity of the Sith species began to dwindle by TOR.

Luke is directly from Anakin, and GL has clearly made it a canon fact that Luke is Anakin's equal, the source of this quote should be on Wookieepedia, I've seen it myself. It was some commentary.

Anyway, by LoTF Luke has as much experience as Vader has by RoTJ. Luke progressed faster at first because he was older of course, but Vader's powers were limited by his lack of willpower and Luke's was not. Assuming Vader kills Palpatine after the events of RoTJ, if things had gone down differently that battle, Vader has embraced himself and has the willpower to fully heal himself as he had tried to do earlier in Shadows of the Empire, but failed because he lacked the willpower requisite to maintain a steady level of rage to fully heal his lungs in that novel - Vader is now able to advance to his full potential as Luke had.

Again, I think the limitations of the light side are Luke's disadvantage here, Luke cannot reverse his aging like Anakin so he's physically at a disadvantage, whereas they are presumably equal in every other area, including Force power level.

That one disadvantage, toppled with Vader's skill in tactics and the lesson he learned on Mustafar, he has a better chance of winning. Other than that it can go either way.

Also, whereas Luke had access to the information of the Jedi library on Coruscant with a Master clearance level - Anakin was not allowed to have access to such information until he became Vader and the Empire was formed.

That might also have some influence on why Anakin didn't progress as fast as Luke did after RoTJ.

Lucas' outdated statments have even less bearing now that Disney holds canon-say and GL does not.

Yahoo69
Luke could win even if both his hands were mechanical, LOL.

Are we talking Machine Vader or Anakin Vader???

(Also, Full-Potential Anakin is undoubtedly better then Luke in possibly every aspect, in fact, he would've been the most powerful being in the Star Wars Mythos)

NewGuy01
Full potential Vader stomps. Luke's considerably more powerful than Vader or Ani, but he himself had not realized his "full" potential to be twice as powerful as Sidious. He just hasn't.

Actually, Vader wasn't very far off from reaching his full potential.

It was really Vader's acceptance that was holding him back. He never truly accepted what he had become. Even Palpatine believed that if Vader were to overcome his emotions, he could very well have reawakened the power of the Chosen One within him. The only thing was that Vader was one very emotionally disturbed Force Sensitive, like Darth Bane and Rahm Kota.
