"Plot Induced Stupidity."

Anyway, Kakashi has a number of tools that gives him a major, major edge. Sharingan means he can follow his movements. Kamui means killing him quickly (or just disarming, optionally). Earth-diving means that he can get out of Brook's way, or even get out of hearing of the songs.

To elaborate on what Q99 has said PIS is when we the audience know the character is capable of something but they don't do it for whatever reason. Take for instance in Arlong Park. Luffy displays the strength to crush stone like nothing but manages to get stuck. This was done so Luffy vs Arlong would happen last and thus is an instance of a character being needlessly stupid for the sake of a more dramatic story.

There is an alternative called CIS or Character Induced Stupidity. This is when a character does something stupid because of his or her own moral/beliefs/intelligence/etc. Sanji could beat Kalifa but he is a man who refuses to harm women and so his moral code causes him to do something stupid.

Another example that's pretty ridiculous: Water 7 arc, Luffy gets caught between two buildings, forcing him to stay out of the way for some major events that included a failed assassination attempt, the city being flooded, and his crew bring kidnapped out of town. When Nami finally finds him and tells him the situation, he PUSHES THE BUILDINGS OVER.

Yeah, major plot induced stupidity.

That's also Character Induced Stupidity.

Unless we assume some really unfair stats favoring Brook, Kakashi has this in the bag.

Kakashi fought most of a day during the ninja war. He only wipes himself out by using his big jutsu repeatedly, and even that less-so than it used to be.

Early-Kakashi, Brook'd have the edge, though the fight's still unlikely to be decided by stamina.





Brook only has a little range. Kakashi can bend space and time and erase parts of his foes at a distance, or throw giant homing water dragons.


You're pitting the normal Strawhat crew members against S-class ninja, and while the Strawhats are respectably strong by Naruto terms, they aren't S-class strong.

The Strawhats are very lacking in the versatility department which is a distinctive advantage that high ranked Naruto ninjas have. Nevertheless, Kakashi is pretty bottom of the barrel as far as high ranked ninjas go.

I wouldn't say that, largely just due to Kamui which is... insanely hax.

He can use it a few times in a battle nowadays (more, if he has an external chakra boost), and normally it'll only take one.
