This project has been in development hell for quite a well, and having recently re-played uncharted 2, I thought I would resurrect some interest in its movie prospects.

I believe that Zachary Levi would be absolutely perfect to play Nathan Drake

Funny Uncharted Scenes

Also Nathan Fillion is too old you guys sad

Not with the right director/writer.

Gore Verbinsky and Chris Fedac would be ideal

The reason that happens is because the movie developers aren't actually fans of the game, and therefore they feel comfortable changing the characters/story. Getting a director like jj abrams we wouldn't have that problem.

Also, as we saw with the cancellation of David O. Russell's near adaptation, the naughty dog studio isn't gonna let stupid shit happen.

Kazenji
Or better yet get Naughty Dog involved with it

like how Ubisoft are overseeing their games which are being turned into movies.

Naughty Dog is already working in coordination with Sony to choose the right director/writers/cast. The reason Russel left the project was because naughty dog didnt like his vision, even though Sony was all for it.
And thank god because Mark Wahlberg is not right for Nathan Drake, and Uncharted is not a family crime drama.

IceBreaker2000
Nathan Drake is Nolan North. No one else can play the part

marwash22
Not sure about personality 'cause I've never played the game, but Dylan McDermott looks just like the main character.

I agree, Machinima is lowballing Nate. Still a funny vid though, with indy coming in at the end.

Drake is a master at stealth and shooting people in the head. The only reason he doesnt kill Lara is because he is nice.

A fan made film that came out this week

TheOneFirestorm
This could be a Great Indiana Jones style Movie because that's mostly what Uncharted video game series except because Hollywood has mostly used the awful formula for most video game movies of making unfaithful movies that barely resemble the video game or have 0 resemblance to the damn video game the movie is based on I won't be surprised if Hollywood hugely chokes Buffalo Bills style like they did when the Cowboys steamrolled them easily scoring more than 60 points.

It wouldn't be hard to make a Uncharted a over 90 minutes movie, and no damn excuses for making unnecessary changes.
Please Hollywood do justice with this great Video Game Series making a faithful video game movie including Drake and other characters being mostly the same no moroni asinine changes because they can or simply because they can.

Don't give me some abomination embarrassment in the league of Resident Evil movies that are embarrassments, or Double Dragon the whole it could have been a great movie but wasn't mostly because Hollywood made a damn unfaithful movie.

Hollywood is like the Rams. The Rams wasted more than 2 seasons with Jeff Fisher instead of using the intelligent logical decision to make a change which finally happened after wasting more than 3 seasons with Jeff Fisher.
Similar Hollywood has seen the awful track record of made mostly unfaithful or utterly unfaithful movies based on video games that usually are bad or awful movies, and unsuccessful at the box office. They haven't used the logical wise decision to change by making faithful video game movies.

cdtm
Hopefully the movie is better then the game. Uncharted is TERRIBLE.

cdtm
Kind of a shame the closest we'll get to an Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford is a game, though.

Personally, I want a story about the guy who chased young Indie in Last Crusade. They'd need a different actor, obviously, but he was a pretty cool character that probably lead an interesting life.

Hardly salty. I don't really give a shit about Uncharted. But those who do would understandably be disappointed that we aren't getting the Nate they know and love but a younger version of the character.

Yeah. Origin stories, and or prequels...

Still, there are ppl who will w. a Stop Sign.

I guess it's proper that it's just called "Uncharted" because they basically smooshed together plot points from all the games. We see Young Nate and Sully from the flashbacks, the airplane in the desert scene from Uncharted 3. Chloe from Uncharted 2. And Nate's brother Sam is mentioned which isn't brought up until Uncharted 4.

ares834
lmao

Looks absolutely awful. And as I said before, it appears Holland is horribly miscast here.

Ridley_Prime
Yeah, a clean baby faced Tom Holland that looks nothing like Drake except for the shirt. This kinda amplifies the gripes for some of the Resident Evil film reboot cast choices.

KingD19
Holland isn't miscast anymore than Mark Whalberg is. If they're using a young Nathan he definitely works, and it seems that way since they're using young Sully.

My issue is that they're using Nate and Sully from early in their career and relationship, but using stories from all the games when Nate is at different ages and Sully is very much an older man.

Impediment
That airplane cargo scene from part 3 was intense AF.

KingD19

Hell yeah it was. Nobody does action set pieces better than Naughty Dog, and the Cargo Plane scene is one of the best in Uncharted period. That, the train in the Himalayas, and the sinking ship are probably the best.

It really pisses me off seeing just how far they've come, with no plans of remaking or continuing Jak & Daxter.

It's amazing these filmmakers have millions invested and can recreate moments straight out of the the games but god smite the heretic that tries to put effort in making anyone look like the characters a teenager who attends conventions stashing lunch money could pull off better doing.

Again, not far off the mark at all. They're just using a "Young Adult" Nate that we didn't get a focus on in the games.

Again, not far off the mark at all. They're just using a "Young Adult" Nate that we didn't get a focus on in the games. We only see child/teenage Nate, Adult Nate(31-39), and Retired Nate(40yrs old +)

Yep. Plus he has very different mannerisms from Drake. He comes across as an entirely different character. Between him and Marky Mark as Sully, this movie has horrible casting.

Kazenji
They keep saying its a prequel but there's too many things being burrowed from the games.

^ I guess some people didn't get the memo.

jaden_2.0
Looks not completely terrible. Will be average fair though.

KingD19
Aside from Sonic The Hedgehog and the last 5 minutes DOOM spent in 1st Person Mode, like 98% of all video game adaptations, especially movies are garbage. So getting average fair is amazing in comparison.

jaden_2.0
True. I did like Silent Hill though.

KingD19
I enjoyed Silent Hill more because they didn't try to do a direct adaptation of the games because of how complicated they are. They kept it vague and made their own story for a movie audience and had Pyramid Head pulling people's skin off. It was a fun action horror romp.

Patient_Leech
I saw a trailer for this the other day. Looks like it might be somewhat fun.

Impediment
I wonder if Nolan North will have a cameo.

For me, it was also the first adaptation to really capture the "feel" of the games. Both before and after the sirens felt very much like the first time I played through the first Silent Hill game.

Darth Thor
Don't get how this is a prequel. Prequel to what? The game?

Anyway from someone who knows nothing about the game, film looks fun.

emporerpants
Looks terribly miscast. Doesn't feel like uncharted at all. The only thing that did was in the beginning of the trailer when they played a few notes of the games theme.

It's not a prequel. There are scenes and set pieces straight from the games in the trailer. Looks to be more of a "greatest hits" rather than a true adaptation or prequel.

I don't know anything about this really but I admit to thinking it looks fun from the trailer. Kind of an Indiana Jones vibe, so I will probably check it out at some point.

jaden_2.0
Saw this tonight. It was good fun. I only got some of the references cos I've only ever played Uncharted 4. You see pretty much all the action set pieces in the trailer though. The fight choreography is excellent. Very Pirates of the Caribbean style goofiness. Film's like a fun mix of The Davinci Code, The Goonies, Indiana Jones. There's really good chemistry between the characters for the most part.

Robtard
Good to hear, cos I'm always down for a fun adventure flick.

Hushyear
I liked the vibe of it

Saw this as well. Was decent I thought. My brother has played all the games and he thought it was good too, so thumbs up all around.

Good film, thoroughly fun romp.

Robtard
Agreed, silly and cheesy, but the action and story kept you entertained.

Patient_Leech
I just watched this. Found it cheesily entertaining.

I didn't realize it was the Zombieland and Venom director. This was much more Zombieland and much less Venom. I found it fun.

Kazenji
I found it entertaining too, It was also good seeing the Nolan North cameo in it

in regards to the director maybe he needs better scripts to work with.
