Amping???

When it comes to amping, which body can contain the most power without giving out.?

Also, which character gains the most power via amping (outside source amping is allowed, as along as it's done via their power source).

Surfer
Superman
Kyle

Can't use any other character outside of the ones mentioned here (example, Superman 1 million).

Supra
Superman Sun Dipping depends on how long..

SS Close Second depending on Superman Sun Dip otherwise SS

Kyle Third

Well surfer was capable of destroying a moon physically while amped to the point he nearly exploded.

Oh, he also died. So that obviously makes him number 1.

Let me get this straight. You think being turned into a mindless swelled up energy bomb is an amp. Not just that, according to you an "amped" Surfer is only capable of destroying a moon at the cost of his own life...

Yet... Surfer has destroyed planets multiple times without an amp under his own power, and without much trouble too. Something doesn't seem right here, hmmm.

You mean everybody from Thanos to Moondragon is lying here?

The difference is between energy blasts and physically destroying something. Have you seen surfer punching or ramming a planet or a moon and destroying it? He couldn't puncture a ship's hull with his full force strike once FFS.

Superman, his amp was compared to thousands of galaxies of power

Scan? Im interested!

In the scans Thanos himself said that the amount of energy Surfer absorbed were past his limits, to the point where he not just loses his mind, but was on the brink of self-destruction. IOW Surfer absorbed so much energy he could've "exploded" and caused "self-destruction."

Becoming an energy sponge, engorging yourself with energy to the point where you lose your mind, to the point where you're about to exlode and kill yourself doesn't sound like a straightforward amp in my opinion.

It's an "amp" only in the sense that he had a sh*t load of energy stored in him like an overfilled water balloon about to explode, but it obviously had huge deficits too, like making him lose his mind, and the potential for self-destruction.

And why would Surfer need to destroy a moon by ramming it? He's destroyed a moon as a side effect of his battle with Morg. He's destroyed planets much larger than moons with energy blasts.

He was amped and that's it. The fact that a little of sun's energy overloaded him is just even more funnier.

He has also been exhausted from destroying a space station and some robots. Characters fluctuates, thinking surfer always operates at planet destroying level is foolish.

bbrem123
Why even bring up that example? To lowball surfer?

Supra
Supre wins..

Mindship
Supermon. Though I think Surfer handles low-level amping very well, I think Superman handles the higher-level amps better. Just a gut feeling.

Sun Dipped his power is unreal..Can he breath in space when sun dipping?

Galan007
No. The sun clogs his sinuses.

DarkSaint85
The photons block his nostrils.

It's the same effect when you sneeze when you go out into bright sunshine. The photons are tickling you.

With Superman, he breathes so many photons in, they block him up.

Supra
So how does he breath in the sun?

He holds his breath, and/or uses a heat-resistant breathing apparatus, iirc.

Yeah the "amp" only consisted of him engorging himself with so much energy he lost his mind and was about to explode like a water balloon and die. Context matters a lot when interpreting a feat. Not just the pretty pictures.

What on Earth suggests to you that he absorbed very little solar energy? Or is this something you pulled from thin air? Given that Surfer has absorbed the attacks of an entire fleet, and used it to transmute a yellow sun to a red sun gives you a stick to measure with.

Oh you mean the time Mephisto was messing with his head and causing him to hallucinate and go mad? Again, context matters, and people should be cautioned when reading your posts, since they deliberately leave out important context.

Who says Surfer operates at planet busting levels all the time? We know from feats that he can reach those levels easily (in-character) if the circumstances are there, like when the planet has no life, and his opponent is powerful enough.

Branlor Swift
So... Surfer loses because he has a low feat?

One-Punch
According to Abhi Surfer's barely capable of destroying a moon without first absorbing a sh*t ton of energy, and almost killing himself doing it.

Even though Surfer has several other planetary (i.e., bigger than moon) level destructive/incinerating/matter manipulation feats without amps.

Sounds about as reasonable an argument as most around here these days

One-Punch
Reminds me of that Bendis fiasco with Thanos, where one low-feat somehow nullifies a character's history of feats, and becomes the new average.

As if any single feat defines an entire character.

So now what is considered an amp now? Absorbing a shit ton of energy to the point he nearly exploded is somehow not an amp now just because he lost his mind?

The fact that it was the earth's sun and when surfer released it all, it was just enough to destroy the moon? Transmuting a sun with amped by enough power to kill him isn't too bad, but it shows that he has his limits too.

Yeah, messing with his mind which caused his power cosmic to swell up in its entirety and it was enough to destroy a space station. How flattering.

Pray tell me how Mephisto making him hallucinate means "Power cosmic swelling up and reaching critical mass" and after that surfer being totally exhausted means surfer didn't use his full power there.

What about this bro?

If you actually read the first post, it was a sarcastic post. "Obviously that means he is number 1." But yeah, surfer is capable of destroying planets. He's done it four times now.

Cmon now Superman Prime uses no such thing..he breaths that solar radiation like it was oxygen.

chipguy_okay
superman became superman prime.
kyle could pull a hal if getting parallax is allowed.
surfer is left in the dust.

superman>>> all

But Surfer needs training from superman in how to absorb a sun.

Even though it was weakening him due to anti-sunlight cancelling out the sunlight in his body, he absorbed enough energy to vaporize half the galaxy!!!!11!

If it was surfer, we would be hearing all about how surfer easily beats everybody because he's so durable!!!

bbrem123
The way I see it is that surfer can amp from a far greater amount of energy sources, while superman's amp from the sun is far greater than any single amp surfer can achieve.

We do have the unilord amp for surfer though. That was a pretty crazy amp.

Unilord saga is non canon.

haha wtf? yes it is. I have seen you try and argue against it being canon. You got put in your place.

Lolwut? The guy who was arguing about it being canon ran away from the debate and I was put in the place? Its a what if scenario which was explicitly stated in the comic, no matter how much surfer fanboys like to reach it isn't canon for 616 surfer.

Of course. You're just another guy posting here, right?

Pray tell me how is a what if story canon BTW?

No seriously, "you lost the argument against that guy and so I win here" must be the most laughable arguing point I've seen. Keep on going bro, you make sentry proud.

Reasonable? Or do you mean it's becoming common practice nowadays?
