Who wins and why?

Toph.

Toph destroys animated Avalanche, probably even destroys comic Avalanche.

Toph being accustomed to this style of play alone could give her this. Either way, she rocks his face. (Haha, get it?)

Evo Avalanche loses. He could barely use his powers without having grand mal seizures. Comic Avalanche would win though. Toph has versatility but he has her beat in raw power.

I know nothing of comic Avalanche so I'll take your word for it.

The most recent thing Avalanche did after he retired from the Brotherhood and opened a bar in San Francisco was almost instantly open a chasm a few dozen feet across and hundreds of feet deep to try and stop Worthy Juggernaut. In the middle of San Francisco.
