We know barely anything about Kanan, but the odds of him being a match for Kyle are minimal.

The main bad of the Rebels series is apparently an Inquisitor, and Katarn beat the strongest of the Inquisitors, and an number of other dark Jedi besides. Kyle Katarn is his order's battlemaster and one of the senior council members.
