John has to deal with Doom, Legion, & Franklin who are all very capable of ending him.

I have to admit i were very obtuse with the OP, i meant that they are limited to the artifacts of the universe they want to take over.

TBH Thanos would struggle to properly take over Marvel Earth. They just seem to ignore certain people whenever he does (like Legion and Franklin Richards and jobber auras).
