what if the two most powerful Jedi masters of the Clone wars went in together to arrest the dreaded dark lord and fought in a Lightsaber only fight, NO prep, NO nexus, just an all out sword fight like on Corousant, who would win win Palpatine or the Jedi masters?

If it's pure lightsaber combat, Mace can't use Vaapad's effects, and he goes down very quickly. Then it's just Sidious and Yoda, which can go either way.

Yoda alone would has the advantage against Palpatine in his office imo. Throwing in Mace makes this massively unfair.

Why can't Mace use Vaapad in a lightsaber duel? Sounds silly to me.

Yeah after Sidious Blitz 3 other Council Members first.

And don't kid yourself, Yoda still failed to defeat Sidious, who is as per Lucas more powerful than Mace.

So clearly Mace beating Sidious was either due to a serious clash of styles akin to Skywalker > Dooku >> Kenobi = Skywalker,

OR

It was simply a one off under those specific circumstances.

Actually, Sidious was the one who tried to stay away from Yoda. And what was Yoda supposed to do after he fell? He was to far away from Sidious and he had to escape when the clones started to search for him.

It was a draw at best.

I personally think Yoda would have lost eventually. Sidious would win out in through endurance imo. Yoda's fighting style uses up a lot of energy and he's older and more frail than Sidious is.

Disagree. If anything they tied in ROTS and the dream sequence Sidious only had the upper hand due to circumstance with Anakin being there.

Sidious was the one trying to leave, acting frustrated, and having the "Oh, shit!" look on his face throughout the fight. It's fair to assess that Yoda is a superior swordsmen due to either A.Palpatine was disarmed or B.He felt he couldn't best Yoda in a duel so he switched tactics to using the Force.

Palpatine may have stronger offensive Force powers but Yoda can hang. He's showed that he can counter his lightning with considerable effort.

Yoda and Palpatine as of ROTS are roughly equals with Palpatine perhaps having slightly more power in the Force and Yoda being a pretty reasonably superior swordsmen.

Adding Mace who is the second strongest Force-wielding Jedi and arguably the greatest duelist of the PT, who has already defeated Palpatine in lightsaber combat in his own right would guarantee death for Palpatine.

Though it should be remembered that Sidious has fought two saber fights in a decade and nothing else, whereas Yoda presumably sparred often and fought actively in the clone wars. Sidious still retained his skill as a tier 9 duelist despite doing basically nothing to do with dueling for a decade.
