If SS connects his heated blade to Shaw's neck, would it kill Shaw via decap or would Shaw absorb the energy from the strike preventing the blade from slicing through, effectively making Shaw more durable than adamantium?

This isn't blunt or concussive force, this is a bladed weapon. I doubt Shaw survives.

Not sure it was ever stated/shown that Shaw can't absorb the kinetic energy from cutting/piercing object.

His ability to soak up bullet damage and grenade sharpnel tells us he could.

True, but bullets and grenade shrapnel are<<<<<< blade that can cut through adamantium.

Yes but it's still an object, the energy behind it will just get absorbed, Shaw could absorb Nuclear radiation which would be a lot hotter than the heat the blade was producing as well and the blade was adamantium as well if I recall but none the less it doesn't matter how strong it was it would still do nothing to him...unless Xavier had control of Shaw's mind and Mags moved it so slowly that he couldn't absorb the energy

He's still absorbing the kinetic energy behind the blade, as well as the heat.

Question is, can Shaw become powerful enough to get through adamantium which is "virtually indestructible".

Maybe he can get strong enough to rattle the frail old Japanese man inside the suit to death.

If Shaw can absorb that blow without getting decapitated, then it makes him more durable than adamantium. Even wolverine couldn't pierce him with his claws. It would make Shaw even more durable than Cap's shield.

That's not how his powers work. He absorbs the energy behind the physical attack, he wouldn't become like adamantium.

eg when he absorbed the explosive and heat energy of the RPG, he was then able to release that in kind.

I understand that, but his powers would effectively make him more durable as a side effect. His durability is amped with kinetic energy absorption.

His durability comes from absorbing the force/energy of what would harm him, not sure his skin is actually made tougher.

Shaw dies from the sword blows. After all, Shaw was killed by a coin to the forehead.
