Jonathan Hickman is a story writer, not the next Ron L. Hubbard.

And it's no secret that Marvel writers are next to clueless when it comes to their own cosmology. Jim Starlin is probably the one who knows it best, but he's also shaped most of it.

One doesn't have to be Hubbard to have a fundamental level of respect and knowledge for canon.

It is ironic that you bring up Starlin. Starlin is the man most responsible for what 616 cosmology is today and yet he worked within the framework set by Kirby, Ditko, and Lee to accomplish it.
