Gladiatorial arena combat

Gannicus walks out, and The Mountain walks out, they both wear what they have been seen to wear, and wield the same weapons as seen in the shows.

Who wins?

I'm thinking that Gannicus would mess the Mountain up, and anyone else for that matter from GOT, but maybe it's just me.

You're giving them the same armor and weapons that they had from the show? Then the Mountain completely demolishes Gannicus.

Gannicus's iron/bronze sword would break against Gregor's steel armor.

Dude it's not that easy to break those weapons, they aren't like spears where it's easy to crack the wooden pole. Wouldn't it take a couple thousand pounds of force to break one? Plus Gannicus is by far the faster man, and he literally takes a giant crap on Gregor's skill. In the show wasn't he was destroying men of Gregor's strength range?

And it's also near impossible to stab or cut through steel armor (which Gregor has) with iron/bronze swords (which Gannicus has). Gannicus has never faced someone with that kind of armor.

Plus unlike The Viper, Gannicus won't have the reach advantage of a spear so he can't simply dance around The Mountain and striking from out of range. Gannicus would need to get in close to land a hit, which probably won't have any effect. And we know what happens when you get close to The Mountain.

Gannicus is fast as shit though. Couldn't he just stab the weak points like Oberyn?

Bronze is garbage compared to iron, which is shit compared to steel.

Didn't Gannicus kill a gladiator while blindfolded? I would say he would find a way to unarm or wound the mountain and then finish him.

Gannicus' twin swords were iron.

Doesn't really matter truth be told.

Iron swords still can't penetrate steel plate armour.

Not sure what I was thinking, Gannicus' swords would have been steel, as steel-making was well known in that period of the Roman Empire.

Chainmail is great defense against slashing attacks, not so great against piercing.

Theokoles vs The Mountain

Theokoles wasn't very fast and agile (like Gannicus) and wore no armor. Gregor would destroy him.

Well yeah, but to exploit those Gannicus would need to get in close, and Gannicus wears no armor. One hit from The Mountain would probably kill him, whereas Gannicus will need to try and pick apart The Mountain by going for the weak spots.

Gannicus is a master at fighting and evading multiple opponents, someone as slow as Gregor wouldn't be very difficult for him to avoid while he picks at the weak spots.

The Mountain isn't exactly that slow. Plus he has a huge reach advantage over Gannicus. The Viper was able to use speed to dance around Gregor because he had a reach advantage with his spear. Gannicus doesn't have that.

What you're telling me is that Gannicus is fast enough to get close in to Gregor, find and hit his weak spot, dance back out of range all without getting grappled or hit by The Mountain? Gannicus isn't that fast nor is The Mountain that slow.

To your question: Yes

Gannicus takes this. He is WAY faster and more skilled than The Mountain.

Given the downright cartoony/McClane-like damage soak the top tier Spartacus guys have, The Mountain would have to land a killing blow very early in the match to stand a chance of winning. Otherwise, Gannicus dances around him and wears him out. And given the speed and skill difference between the two parties, I don't see that early killing strike happening.

As for Theokoles, if both had the same gear he would MURDER The Mountain easily. Only thing Gregor has going for him here is his armour. And pretty much nothing short of a decap will stop Theokoles. Also, the fact he beat Oenomaus (IMO the guy who really was the most skilled fighter out of the main cast), while the latter was in his prime, shows you that he indeed had to have some skill.
