Impediment
Let's settle this once and for all.

The Tesseract
The Aether
The Purple Stone from Guardians of the Galaxy

These are the three Infinity Gems listed, thus far.

Loki's staff in The Avengers IS NOT the Mind Gem. This has been established. If it were the Mind Gem, then it would be very weak sauce if Tony Stark's arc reactor would be able to counter the effect of a nigh omnipotent source of power.

What say you guys?

Firefly218
Tesseract is space gem

I don't know what the aether is

Purple stone is power gem

Also, I think Loki's sceptor being the mind gem makes sense since it was the only thing that could disrupt the power of the Tesseract and close the space portal. Not to mention it'll be in Avengers 2, considering Baron Von Stucker.

Inhuman
Space Gem = Tesseract (gem is inside the cube casing)

Reality Gem = Aether (is liquid form doesnt follow the laws of the other gems. will most likely solidify when other gems are near. Was going to alter reality turning everything in darkness again with the help of the convergence)

Power Gem = GOTG sphere (Gave power boost to Ronin. Over charged weaker beings with too much power , blowing them up.)

Mind Gem = Most likely the gem in Loki's staff. (theory so far but based on feats it seems likely)

Time Gem = rumored to be in AOU

Soul Gem = will most likely be introduced along with Adam Warlock in a Phase 3 film.

also: gem colors will NOT be the same as the comics.

feige even said it was never established that the staff was the mind gem. and it also doesn't make sense for thanos to give up a gem to get another. retarded is more like it. and in the process he ended up losing both? lol thanos is not an idiot. the staff is not a gem.

the aether does seem to be the reality gem. seeing how it would shift the universe into "one of eternal night"

Feige likes to keep some things a secret. He's not going to say it is. Just watch GOTG and see how certain scenes in the trailer aren't true of the actual movie. These fake scenes in the trailer are meant to throw the audiences off track as to the true story line of the movie. Ex: Drax in the line up with the rest of the GOTG in the trailer; this made it seem like they were already a team when caught.

Marvel is bold. I wouldn't be surprise that Thanos gave Loki the Mind Gem because he's that type of master mind. He isn't afraid to take risk like this. It could be that the Mind gem isn't exactly the space gem or power gem in terms of power wielded by a sole individual. It may need to be paired with the rest of the gems to achieve the level of destructiveness of the other gems. The scepter did most thinks you'd imagine the Mind gem would do.

while feige does like to keep things secret, there is no relative gain to keep that secret. lol for what? when they are freely revealing the others. avengers came out two years ago. there is no secret to keep. if it was the mind gem it would have been stated long ago. as many interviews between him and gunn and others talking about the gems. and only three being confirmed...cmon.

marvels boldness has nothing to do with it. if thanos did that on purpose, he isn't a master mind. he is an idiot. you are seeking to attain 6 things of high value...all extremely hard to get. you already have one of those things in ur possession...so what do u do? give it up to get another one? lol wut? im sure he would have also factored the risk of loki failing and him losing both. THAT is not how u do business. that is not a cunning mastermind...that is something u would see a moron on a cartoon show do. there is taking risks and being idiotic. there is no way u can try to defend it that makes that "plan" sound bright in anyway lol
