So...who's fighting in this match?

swollenNerd
Lol my bad its shang vs bats

GroggyGrunt
Only h2h, Shang wins.

With gadgets, I'd give it to bats.

swollenNerd
shang has good skills. but, dont you think batman, has just higher stats? can his higher stats make up for the skill gap. which isnt big if any in the first place?

I would actually argue that their physical gap isn't as large as their straight h2h gap.

Prof. T.C McAbe
Batman, more skilled, stronger, faster, smarter.

why do you think there is a big gap between them in fighting skills?

Deadline
^ Yea!!! I guess Shang never said he knew 133 martial arts, or whatever the number is.

swollenNerd
its 127 but it doesnt really matter the number. their overall skill level seems preety even

You made Wolverine one of the top contenders for best martial artist in Marvel. You have to leave the forum.

Bruce has MASTERED 127 MA.

relentless1
skill wise they are almost even, id give the edge to shang chi probably but bats physical stats are better so roughly equal skill + superior physical stats gives this win to batman

DarkRaiden
SHang stomps. He's better in all ways.

KingD19
Are people forgetting Shang can amp himself with Chi?

relentless1
no chi allowed, read the OP

Silent Master
The OP says no chi balls or blasts, it says nothing about amping stats.

Flyattractor
Shang would probably be a better match up for Snake Eyes. Both use mystic martial arts abilities.

KingD19
If Shang doesn't get his chi amping, Batman doesn't get his armor or his gadgets.

Without Chi, Shang would be dead.

That's one thing the current Living Weapon series got right, when Davos drained the chi out of a group of soldiers and killed them in the process (As opposed to Jay Faerber having Junzo Muto drain the chi of Steel Serpent, and acting like he took away a super power instead of his life force.. I don't know how good Faerber is, but his New Warriors was awful.)

Bruce has MASTERED 127 MA. and yet he's gotten his ass handed to him by bane, joker, kgbeast, Harley quinn, etc. One on panel statement a couple years ago doesn't make him the end-all martial artist.

He could hold his own against KK and beat Bane in the DCnU.

Silent Master
Where was the 127 mentioned in the new DCNU?

No it isn't if you are Batman. KK even said he could learn from Bats.

Fought him twice , In JLA/Countdown kind of got whopped by one but did what he intended in holding him off long enough for Black Lightning to put him back under, and actually kinda got the better of the other in a quick exchange and escape in Brave and the Bold. In a lengthy fight, KK likely would have pummeled him both times though, unless Batman pulled some weird tricks.

And people like Bane have never really stood much of a chance against Batman. The only reason he got him in Knightfall was because Bruce was already done because of gathering up his entire rogues gallery already and then, exhausted, ran into a juiced up Bane.
In even encounters Bane typically can't even hit him or just flat out runs when he sees him.
This has been seen over and over and over again.
In one of them Batman pretty much saying straight up Bane couldn't take him, and Bane agreeing and creating a distraction and running off during No Man's Land to Batman completely manhandling him like beating up a 5th grader in the middle of the Red Hood storylines.

Not one. It's a documented part of his character.
He's often called a master of every Martial Art.
In others he's called the Master of all forms of combat.
Master of all Hand to Hand Disciplines.
In the DCUE He's called the greatest martial artist alive.

He is also the peak of human achievement, considered olympic level or world record holder level in every statistic. He could literally medal in nearly every single event.

He's gotten the better of Shiva, Cassandra Cain, David Cane, and many others, and though he didn't put them down because they were not his real enemy he proved every bit at least equal to guys like Bronze Tiger and Richard Dragon, who pretty much being king shits of MA are what their characters are about.

Even when Prometheus said he downloaded the fighting ability of the top ten martial artists on Earth into himself, Batman wasn't worried, until he said he was one them being downloaded. This would lead a reader to believe he thought his chances were solid against the combined ability of all the above characters.

Batman does lose occasionally for one reason or another, he is human afterall, but short of Karate Kid , he's pretty much the top of the heap.

Bane can't fight Batman.

Phucking clueless.

I know on at least one ocassion it seems pretty obvious that the writer was implying the only reason why Batman held his own against KK was because of circumstances (disease etc).

I did see one fight were Bane lost against Batman but didn't do badly.

Yeah, they used all kinds of excuses for Val's performance.

But the extended Countdown version of the fight made it look a lot more one sided in Val's favor, then the brief Crisis version.
