It's very hard for me to say this, but I thought "Reloaded" was too wordy and too boring compared to the first one. I loved "The Matrix" when I saw it my first time and I couldn't wait to see it again to figure it all out. But with "Reloaded" I'm not sure if I'd be able to sit through it again. I thought the best action scenes were the one's they showed in the ads and previews, and I thought there were too many old dudes philosophising about what's going on. I know philosophy plays a huge part in this film and in the way the directors think, so I understand it is necessary, but I with they would have done things diferently. Granted, I am a bit confused about a lot of things so maybe if I understood it better I'd enjoy it more. I was also tired when I went to see it. I'm still a fan, so please don't hate me if I knocked it a bit.

Tevesh
not at all preston. i loved the movie, but i too didn't get everything that was going on with the philosophy. i need to watch it coupla times over before i think i can get a good grasp of it.

razorrex10
ya it was better than the first one for me but some parts i didn't understand but i will see the mvoie in thearters at least 5 times

razorrex10
oh ya and the story was great i thought

odin
I thought it was a good movie...... although.. they did over do the fight scene slo-mo's a bit.....

Tex
It had its highs and lows, mostly highs.

The first film was revolutionary with its camera/slow motion bullet techniques and kick ass kung-fu. Seeing it then I was like Whoa! But now it's like, been there done that.

Matrix reloaded has so much action it actually becomes boring. I mean a 14 minute car chase?? Overkill if you ask me.

And its no fun with Neo being Superman. I mean he's invincible, what's the fun in that?
Like after Neo beats up the 100 agent Smiths we are supposed to be suprised and amazed that he can beat up 6 dudes with swords? Come on!roll eyes (sarcastic)

The lobby scene in the first Matrix far surpasses any action in Reloaded. And it was filmed for peanuts compared to the $45 million it cost to film the free-way chase alone.

All together, I wouldn't say I'm disappointed, just not as interested.

justinday15
I think it was great! It had more action then the first one, but it did have alot of talking.

Augeybana
Yeah watching it a second time thats how good it was.

BackFire349
a couple of my friends hated it.

Augeybana
Get out of here what's to hate????

DeepThought
I loved it, but almost felt like it was about the most movie I could take in one sitting wink

Sensory overload!

Tevesh
yep. i've seen it twice. i know for a fact that i'm going to be going to see it two more times with friends who haven't seen it yet.

2nd time through, you notice a lot of more things in the movie

Tex
Theres a lot of things to hate the more and more I think about it, the less I like it.

chico23
Well I think that it was a great movie (8.5/10), but its hard to match the mystery and the freshness of the first. Tex had a great point about the lobby scene compared to the action scenes in Reloaded. I think that was the best thing about the original Matrix, it had a raw feel to it, action based more on technics and wires then on CGI. Its hard to find an action movie these days that doesn't use CGI in one form or another, the orginal Matrix not excluded, but i think they went a little overkill on Reloaded.

Sorry I posted here for those of you who don't like Relaoded. I really just wanted to comment on what Tex had wrote.

By the way, the lobby scene had alot of gun play like most of the action scenes in the original with the exception of the loading programs. I'm really looking foward to #3 seems like, from what I seen in the trailer, they will incorporate more of that.

Augeybana
At least the thios movie started it's own style I saw Blade 2 use Matrix tricks.

jimbo3
The gun pornography in the first film was more exciting.

There were more things in the second film that I didn't like. In the end I thought it pulled through pretty well.

I'm anticipating #3 more than I did #2. thumb up

Tex
Theres been allot of Blade/Matrix comparisons throughout the years.
Both Matrix and Blade were filmed at the same time. Neither copied the other. Its just one of those weird coincidences.

Blade II just went along in the same style as its predecessor, it didn't necessarily copy Matrix.

kingkiller67
Blade2 and matrix are alsome eloded was the kick-ass movie in2003. yeah!!!! go Neo!!!

Dexx
8scratches chin*...i can't make anything of that sentence...

Captain REX
I can...sort of.

I loved the film. It had a different feel from the first one as well.

Corran
I liked it, but at the moment prefer the first, the way this one ended is like the 3rd is just going to be the second part of the second movie, good job it's geting released quite close.

cookies2006
Yeah the ending was stupid but overall this one was way better than the first movie.

Tevesh
yeah. damn cliff hangers...i wanna i see revolutions now dammit!

anyways, it's not really a trilogy, it's a duology but the 2nd movie is really damn long and split into two.

ash
WOAH WOAH WOAH....SOMEBODY HATES THE MATRIX...GET THE FLUCK OUTTA HERE!!! THE MATRIX IS REAL!!!LOL.....anyways i think that we should all hug or something right now... becuase the matrix is the best. and it will always be the best, so STFU and go see it again.

yerssot
some of my friends hated it, they said the entire story was destroyed because of what they said in reloaded and that the action was overdone with too much in it

chico23
I don't think the story was "destroyed" I think it was just expanded. Really there are still alot of questions from Reloaded that haven't been answsered thus creating the illusion of plot holes (at least I hope....."Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion simultaneously the source of your greatest strength and your greatest weakness."wink. Also, maybe people just don't like where this matrix movie is going with the storyline, I don't agree, but it is understandable.

yerssot
they didn't like the meeting with the creator and him AND destroying the mainframe AND saving trinity (and later on getting her back from the dead)

Bespin Bart
I thought the whole part that Yerss just listed was awesome.

yerssot
*sigh*
barts roll eyes (sarcastic)

stick out tonguewink

Tex
OK, I've seen it again....
and now I hate it even more!

It would've been better had the W...ski brothers stopped at part I.
Part II is just a bunch of unnecessary confusing crap specifically designed with plot holes to create a part III. The so called 'ending' was very crappy indeed.

We know how it's all going to end. Zion will be saved, all the humans connected to Matrix will die blah blah blah.

Such a big deal was made with this whole will Trinity die or live and then he saves her so crappily in the end. I laughed when he pulled the bullet out. How cheesy!!!! It would've been so much better had she died!

Part I is soooooo much better. It was revolutionary, part II should've never been made. Its all about the $$$$$$$$
--------------

I dont want any lip from you Matrix nerdsstick out tongue

Tevesh
just like in star wars we all know that the palpatine will take over, become emporer, seduce anakin to the dark side, obi and anakin fight, anakin gets injured becomes darthy boy...padme has luke and leia the empire becomes established and jedi all die. We're still gonna go watch it right? we wanna know how all that stuff happens. same with matrix. besides i'm sure there will be some sort of twist in the end. the Wachowski brothers wouldn't leave it completely cut and dry with no unpredictability at all, now would they? of course not. they wouldn't

Ushgarak
It did not look at all cheesy to me. The bullet pulling was just one of his One powers but that he brought Trinity back to life was an impossibility that is part of the film plot.

zimbo
I think Wachowiski brothers have done vest they could with the matrix movies ( especially moment with a cake)

Rin
Mmmm.. cake..

Ah, anyways.. My father thought Reloaded was somewhat confusing, slightly drawn out and a little slow. But overall, he liked it. He's a sci-fi geek, so he likes them all. Personally, I loved it and I'm too tired to state the reasons.

preston mullins
You are all in the Matrix.

trisha2657
I also thought the fight scenes went on for too long. I kept thinking why is he bothering with it all? Why doesn't he do the superman thing. Then after what seemed ages he did!!

I loved the first Matrix, and I hope that I will understand the second one after seeing it a couple of more times. So much seems open to interpretation, where the first one seemed so clear to me. Maybe that is the movie makers intention. They have certainly gained my attention. roll eyes (sarcastic)

HotPizza
I gotta agree with Tex. The Matrix Reloaded was no way as good as the original. No way. Anyone who says its better is a fool. How can it be better? HOW!? The fight scenes were overdone and in some cases (the agent smith scene) completely pointless. In parts the script and acting were cheeeesey: "Hmmm Upgrades" and "Me me me me...... Me to." (PHWAA! take a wiff of that cheese). It had none of the originality of the first (how could it though? to be fair), but most importantly it lost alot of the magic that made the first so special. And wats all this about Trinity living, for once why can't our characters except the fact that someone has died? How would Neo cope with the loss of Trinity, could link, neo and morpheus stop the machines alone? Wouldn't that be a more interesting way of continueing with the trilogy. mad

Bits i really liked were, Neo talking to the Oracle. Bless her. Neo stopping the machines at the end and the uncharted areas like the choridors and doorways to different places. I liked these because they were things i didn't expect to come up in this film. Alot of the rest was just blown up and predictable. But don't get me wrong, i liked it, i thought it was good but there was a lot that i didn't like in the film. I just hope Revolutions can respark the original matrix magic.

HotPizza
I'm sorry i was a bit brutal there.... got caught up in the moment!

Ok, here's my take. The plot complexities were excellent. My personal favorite part of the first movie was the unique understanding that was aquired by finding out what the Matrix was. However, when I went to see the Reloaded, I figured it wouldn't be able to surprise me with new information about the state of their world. But seriously, finding out that Neo's position as The One was designed by the machines as an extra means of control? That's just crazy. I was blown away. Again. So anybody who says the plot is too complex needs to watch the scene with the architect very carefully to understand, and then everything will make sense. Otherwise, the fight scenes were badass, and the effects were brilliant. If you want me to say something negative, then I guess my only disappointment in the movie was in Burly Brawl, when Neo is kicking the crap out of the Smiths. It is sometimes obvious that Reeves has been replaced with a digitally rendered character. Other than that, The Matrix Reloaded is the best movie I have seen. Ever. Period.

alaba
THE THINGY ABOUT reloaded is that it's not the kind of movie you'd like at first. when i saw the matrix, i hated it, but latewr i fell in love with it. when i saw reloaded i thought it was crap, but thinking on it changes your mind..im guess it's because it's amovie thats not like any other.....

GoldenSpike
I thought Reloaded was ok, but I have to say that Keanu Reeves is just a crap actor. Every time he opened his mouth, he wanted to sound more and more like what he wanted Neo to sound like but he cant do it, so he ended up sounding like he has something stuck up his ass. And Reloaded had the cheesiest line ever, with 'Heya Fellas' and like I said, Keanu Reeves cant act so it made it even worse.

The Xion Dance scene was pointless, i dont care how much people say about it, I cant believe people can read so much into a scene that was so boring.

I do have to say the action was amazing, and the Neo vs Smith scene was made xtra special by the amazing music on it.

Overall Reloaded was Half a film that lasted 2 and a half hours, and in all fairness had to, as films that dont last over 2 hours nowadays dont get any recognition.

trav6612
I liked the Reloaded, not as much as the original, but unlike most sequels, it was pretty good. Not many sequels now a days are that great. The only part that I hated about Reloaded was the freaking ending. Left us hanging for another 6months. How crappy is that?

alaba
YEP..GOLDEN SPIKE...keanu is really a crap actor...he 's much better if he doesnt open his mouth...his expressions are just too blank and it's pretty obvious he was acting.

Jackal
Reloaded? No need to reload. It's full already. Nothing new in reloaded except raising the dead. Too much...

alaba
ha ha ha ha.....

neo-generate
i thought reloaded was really good. not as deep as the first but it still had many aspects that needed to be...i apologise for the pun...decoded. for example the relevance of the keymaker. okay he had info and a key, but apart from that his role was small. also what about the oracle. whats her part in all of this apart from being neos clairvoiant. also i have a hint fo everyone smith is a virus!

Tomkat
Dude, I SO MUCH AGREE WITH YOU!

That scene would have been ok if it had been about half as long. Also, I didn't like how Morpheus got all "excited" and shouting during his speech. The guy before him spoke in a normal tone, and everyone seemed to hear him just fine. Morpheus has always been the "cool and collected" type, and his speech just seemed out of character.

Kes
I like it though I think I prefer the first one in terms of watching. I mean Reloaded as lots of action and then really boring dialoge or monaloge like the french dude! I almost fell asleep. I know the Matrix as to be seen lots of times and there is still new stuff but after reading all this post I really don't think i will watch it in the cinema. I will just probably rent it before the #3 cames out and then if I like it, watch it over and over again! lol

The Omega

revolution_man
i thought that the matrix reloaded was just as good as the first one. it wasnt as emotionally involving as the first one(that last scene when neo stops the bullets still gives me the chills). but the action in the second one was so unbeilevable i almost pissed my pants! i think i truly like the matrix reloaded better but dont wanna admit it becuz the first one was soo good. but i have to say that i liked the second one more becuz like jimbo3, im more excited about seeing revolutions than i was about reloaded!

Seth-Gecko
I totally disagree with all the statements regarding how Reloaded sucked...I think it was actually if not better, just as good as the first. In part 1, we get all the jazz for the first time: bullet-time, slo-mo, gun porn, badd-ass martial arts, crazy introspective story line. Not to mention the hit techno song "spybreak".

Part 2 expanded, answered, and left us with a lot more questions than the first one. I like the fact that in part 2 they didnt need to over use techno music in every fight scene.

About Neo being able to save trinity, I think that was one of the best parts of the movie. It proves that Neo DOES walk his own path and is free from the systems of control. Trinity was supposed to die, but Neo being the one and knowing that he can save her is what the movie was about...choice. As we heard, choice is an illision givin by those with power, and those without. Neo just proved how powerful he is when he chose to save trinity, disobeying his purpose.

Part 3 is gonna be one huge final peice of the puzzle. We will find out what happened to Neo, how he stopped the sentinals, and the fate of the human race.

I think that Neo will have to fight the original Agent Smith, the one that began makin all the clones in the big rain scene. He will eventually win, but the human race will still be enslaved with Neo, Trin, Morph, and maybe a few others left outside the matrix. They will probably end it with them jackin back in to try it all over again.

My name is Neo9
watch it repeatedly and it gets better, i thought the 100 smith fight was awesome and so was the sword-fighting scenes but neo didn't use any guns at all and imo that sucked. also, when the many smiths fought neo in the hallway, i was begging for them to stop, cuz i don't want to watch them fight each again, especially since the 100 smith part showed more enuff. but like i said, the more you watch it the better you will like it( eventhe neo/smith hallway fight!).

GABRIEL05
Yeah I like can't stand it when people talk. It's so boring and just like whats the point of dialogue anywayz! It just puts me to sleep.

just kidding.

I think that people who didn't like reloaded weren't giving it enough thought. I'd hate to say it but most of the people I know who didn't like reloaded barely had the anylytical fortitude to comprehend American Pie. I shit you not!
However,
when it comes to sequels and trilogies, there is a syndrome all sequels have. It's like a middle child syndrome, and Matrix Reloaded is I feel has that. In that it dissapointed people when it didn't lead them (plot wise) in the direction they thought it should have gone (we've all seen this right?)

Years from now when people who never grew up in these times watch the movies, they will see it differently because they can see how all three movies coalesce. I guarentee you this. Simply put they will have hindsight.

well at least thats my take on it...

scifigunslinger
I thought it was the best movie ever, but even the best movie can have a little too much talking.

Vim
I thought reloaded was fantastic. The Burly Brawl was totally awsome, I would love to see a fight scene like that in every movie!!!!!! Well, maybe not every single one. The action and talking was mixed well, when the architect is talking we get scenes of Trinity fighting, so its not totally boring! The whole scene with Meroviginian, I was thinking he was gonna pull a gun out and start a fight right there! I did miss the gun fighting some, but I'm a huge martial arts fanatic so I didn't mind all the fighting!!

GABRIEL05
Maybe I'm wierd, but I'm more excited by the talking scenes than fight scenes. Honestly, I mean the one where Neo fights all of Mero's homies, that wasn't that exciting. Besides you knew Neo was gonna win. However in the discourse scenes you don't know whats gonna come next. And, lets be honest lads and lasses, if you get bored, fall asleep, or can't focus on a 2-5 minute dialogue, and your over the age of ohhhh...saaaaay...fifteen, then you either have ADHAD or a SERIOUS problem
