Both from that era in a tournament style fashion. Who wins??

Based on what we saw of them from their fights, I think Lee would win. But according to Lee himself Neji was stronger iirc

It'd be really hard to get past Rotation.

Basically, when they clash Neji has a small reach edge due to only having to poke, and if things look bad, he can rotate.


Now, Reverse Lotus may be able to give him a shot, but if Neji and his rotation manages to weather it, even if just barely, that'll be it. And/or if Neji manages to get some good pokes in before Lee uses it, reducing Lee's power or even taking him down.

Neji wins.

Lee has never once beat him, because he has vastly superior Taijutsu, rotation, and Byakugan. That was even before Neji knew rotation.

Lee's only advantage is his gates, which would be very helpful, but wouldn't get him much, considering Neji can soften the blows by exerting chakra through his pores, and weaken him before hand by tagging him with gentle fist. Just an attack or two from him will be enough to weaken him severely.

Basically, if he doesn't immediately take off the weights, go fifth gate, and attack him from all over, then he has no chance. Even then, he still might get taken down by Neji feeding his gentle fist through Lee's gauze, and Neji could stop himself from hitting the ground with rotation.
