So Cesar and his group of apes from Dawn of the planet of the Apes are in NYC when the events of I am Legend occur. They are unaffected by the virus, but find themselves in a war against the creatures from I am Legend. Who wins and gains control of the city?

Apes. Smarter and have guns.

No guns for the apes, Lolz.

Apes. They can easily set traps during the day time and are physically stronger. Not to mention a lot smarter to.

Pretty sure the vampires set traps as well in that movie.

They set one trap and all they did was move a manican and put rope around it.

Vamps outnumber them 100/1. Plus the apes will be infected.

That was only the one Vamp and he was noted as being particularly intelligent.

The rest of them were to busy playing soggy biscuit with that deer corpse.

True, however that does not change that the vamps massively outnumber the apes, and the apes can and will be infected.

Going from what we saw, don't think there's more than a couple hundred or so infected in that section of NY

Don't know about the apes being stronger and faster. The vampires smashed will smith's SUV over with 2 hits.

They do not massively outnumber the apes.

The virus wont work on the apes, stated by the OP. I wanna say the apes. They are very resourceful and will exploit the vamps weakness: inability to be out during the day.

OP states that virus doesn't affect apes. Apes win. Zombie-vamps are more numerous but not that much. After all, how many did we actually see in the movie? The apes were pretty numerous themselves.

I bet a headbutt from that lead zombie would ko Caesar.

With Cesar's intillegence, he realizes the virus will destroy his ape empire. Studies the mutates and realize they can be killed by sunlight. Cesar's lights up the whole city into a firing armegeddon blaze that will destroy the mutates dwellings. Win for the smart apes.

Don't think this is a prep battle. People are doing too much when all it takes is a simple judge on who would win the fight. With that said, I'm giving it to the infected. They are more lethal than the apes while being just as strong if not faster than the apes.

What strength feats do they have?

IAM beats definitely are faster and stronger. Apes are WAY smarter though.

Intillegence wins! If this a prep battle. And if the Apes are infected these mutant primates will wipe out the infected humans.

This would probably come down to what the apes did during the day, while the vamps were helpless and hiding out. The apes were intelligent enough to burn the vamps up by destroying the buildings with flames during the day, and retreating at night. I think the apes would win this over a period of time.
