So I was checking some things out in Chrono Trigger's encyclopedia and saw that Primeval Blade looks like a Chinese Sword rather than a katana. They said that it was based on the Asuka and Jomon Periods and I did some research on them and saw that Jomon was a bit prehistoric while Asuka was in the 500s A.D. Now I saw that the blades were straight rather than curved on a Katana now if but it didn't look like a Chinese Sword and that was for both periods. I only saw them as Katana blades with the saving distinction of the handguard/tsuba. However they may be other types of swords that resemble the Chinese Sword but those were the ones that I saw currently. If they're was a way to tell the difference between a Katana in Jomon and Asuka with China's swords what would be the difference between them?
