Ocarina of TIme's soundtrack will always be one of my favorites and its the one that I first think of.

I liked Final Fantasy 7's, Crisis Core. Metal Gear Solid 1's The Best is yet to come is top tier too. Lots of old PSX RPGs come to mind.

How could I forget the all of the prince of Persias where really good

And how could I forget Dragon Age Origins? Aubrey Ashburn is amazing. Her performance singing Leliana's Song was beautiful.

DAO had some really nice background music too. I can still remember some of the "combat music" that was used in the game.

I really liked:

Metal Gear Solid.
Resident Evil 2 had an excellent soundtrack imo.
GTA VC (licensed or not, it was awesome).

XCOM EU and XCOM EW has the best music of any videogame I've played in my entire life.

FF12 - Battle for Freedom

For Final Fantasy games I would have to choose these (in no particular order.

FF7.
FF 13-2.
FF V.
FF IV.

Then again in no certain order for other games I would go for.

Just a heads up, the game does not have to be good, just the music.

Battle Hunter on the PS1 has some bad-ass themes.

Might have to change the order around a bit and place Final Fantasy VII in my #1 spot. What was pretty remarkable about it that I don't think any other game has quite managed to do is pretty much perfectly capture the look and feel of the game world and the characters' personalities and struggles, and develop its own unique sound. I can look at a picture of Midgar or the cast of characters, and listen to a number of pieces of music from the game, and they all seem to have that same, green mechanical biosphere, water slowly dripping onto rusted metal, flowers mixed with power stations flavour to them.

Been recently playing FFXIV, and the amount of music that I remember being in FF7 is staggering. They go back to it because it was just that good.

Cantata Mortis & God in Fire from Dissidia Duodecim was pretty bad-ass.

The Chaos battle themes are also pretty cool to listen to.

Battle with Magus, Especially that remix made by bLiNd.

All of the Elder Scrolls main themes deserve to be on this list.

Also, my favorite FF theme is the Main Final Fantasy Theme.

It Has To Be This Way-Dual Mix-, makes me think of Emma.inlove

Holy Hell.

Garuda's theme from FFXIV is bad-ass.

It's either called Broken Angel, or Fallen Angel.

Regardless, it's amazing.
