Kindof stealing Pyms thread a bit but who's the toughest character in comics? Base you answer on damage received and the ability to come back, damage soak and general grit and toughness in regards to what a character can put him or herself through as well as consistent training intensity and any other examples you guys can think of to support your claim.

Mindset
Doom.

Reflassshh
Constantine.

Henry_Pym
Lobo, the dude shakes off being liquified.

More serious characters it's probably Punisher or Thor though it's unclear if Thor feels pain like normal people as his damage soak is >human level.

Glorificus
Mr. Immortal.

LordofBrooklyn
1.Superman- Poisoned, organs severely damaged or removed, at the same damn time and still wins out.

2. Thor- He has sustained horrendous injuries and still keeps attacking.

zom1967
Well the Hulk had the skin flayed from his bones against Vector, but kept coming. That`s good right!

Henry_Pym
Absorbing man was turned into (heroin/cocaine? Can't remember which) and reformed after being collectively pissed out by a bunch of different junkies.

Not really a durability feat but still impressive.

Kazenji
The Tick.

Khazra Reborn
Wolverine. Or maybe Invincible.

Thanos for taking attacks from Maker/Beyonder, Galactus, Tyrant, Odin, Blackhole and still getting up

Lobo.

Characters who are immortal or have regen aren't really tough.

Just because you are immortal or have the ability to regen, that doesn't negate how tough you are. A person has to have a serious level of pain tolerance or an ungodly amount of rage to keep fighting after being impaled, shot, burned, electrocuted, or crushed in a fight. Any normal person would either run away from the fight or yield to their opponent after taking that much damage; but guys like wolvering, Lobo, and Deadpool just keep on coming for more.

Quan.... I mean he so hated yet he still hasent killed himself

I based my judgement on this:

So Lobo, as my candidate, takes all that punishment, but doesn't stop. Even continues fighting without his head - and comes back from it.

Is he durable? Not that durable. But he's tough.

I agree with Dark Saint.

Still isn't as tough as characters that keep fighting despite not having regen. thumb up

not many can take a beating like Vegeta and keep on coming, Batman is a pretty tough guy, both mentally and physically, Cap too. Id narrow it down to those three for me, I dont really like to count regen guys either just because they arent putting as much on the line so to speak although they are still tough sumbitches, I think of guys like Wolverine here. But yeah, Im going to say Vegeta, Batman and Captain America.

punisher may well take more punishement but hes not mentally as tough and both have feats of taking severe physical damage as well

One_Angry_Scot
I'd say Punisher is certainly up there. He took the "fight" with Sentry well. He took a bit of punishment in that battle and kept on rising up.

Because he is from Marvel, get in line.

it's probably Punisher

Punisher takes more of a beating than Batman and Cap. Anybody doubting this just needs to read Remender's Dark Reign run with Punisher up to and including his final battle with H.A.M.M.E.R. and Daken.

Healing factors and immortality are cheats. They compromise the very idea of toughness in the traditional sense.

Thanos. Undeniable.

Personally, I'd go with one of the higher-end Viltrumites like Invincible, Omni-Man, Thragg, or Conquest. They are able to continue fighting even after they sustain massive amounts of physical damage.

Look at Invincible's fight(s) with Conquest, ffs:

Hell, Thragg was even flayed open(to the point that his intestines were literally spilling out of his abdomen) just prior to beginning his dayS-long melee with Battle Beast:

There are many more examples, obviously, but you get the picture. They are tough as f*ck.
