I was shopping in the PS store the other day and saw it advertised for $30-$40 (can't remember exact price). It looked interesting to me cause I think it might be a lot like Civ Rev. Does anyone now if it's turn-based or not? The description in PS store just had it listed under "strategy" but didn't specify if it was real time or turn-based.

28 views and no replys? I take it that means nobody has played it then. I've decided to go ahead and buy it next month.

Well, I bought this about a week ago and I've pretty much been playing the **** out of it when I'm not playing XCOM or Magic 2013. I'm very pleased with it. A very complex game but lots of fun and quite rewarding if you have the patience to learn how everything in the game works (UI was confusing at first to me). It does have a turn-based feel to it (although it's not technically turn-based) which makes me happy. It's set during the European colonial period of the Carribean and you can align yourself with one of four nations (England, Spain, France, or Holland). You can either take on the role of a trader or pirate and you can even combine the two roles if u wish. So far, I've only been playing as a trader. Haven't done any fighting yet but I've read online that it's very similar to the game 'Sid Meier's Pirates' (which I haven't played yet).

There's still a lot I have to learn about the game but I'm actually enjoying trying to figure it all out. It also looks awesome on my big screen plasma tv. It didn't look that great while I was streaming it during my trial period to Playstation Now but playing it on disc is like eye candy. Probably looks even better on PC. I can't believe the game didn't get better reviews than it did. I read a bunch of critics comments online bashing the game which puzzles me though there were a good amount of praising comments from people too. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes games in which you try to increase your wealth by building a bunch of trading fleets, creating your own types of businesses in towns, or plundering from other ships at sea. But be warned, the games are not short by any means. If you're serious about finishing a campaign then you better be ready to set aside A LOT of time because it's addictive as Hell. Kinda like XCOM is.

I'll update how I feel about the game in a month or two which should give me plenty of time to get really good at game and experiment with being a pirate as well. See if I still feel same way about it then.

Update: This game is not as good as it first seemed to me when I started playing it. After about a few weeks it started to get boring. I'm sticking with New Vegas, Magic, and XCOM (though I'm starting to get extremely tired of the crashes on supply barge and terror missions).
