Since Roshi is battled some of freeza's army in the new movie and can kick their asses.

Is he powerful enough to beat Raditz? Or he get's one-shot still?

Galan007
Most of Freeza's no-name henchman are fodder, tbh. Guys like Raditz were considered among his elite.

Raditz should stomp, effortlessly.

He's weaker than ****ing Appule, lol.

Galan007
He was an elite relative to the no-name fodder goons who can't even generate ki blasts on their own, I mean.

Should.

But if Kamesennin really is superior to Yamcha and Chiaotzu......... then he can wipe his ass with Raditz.

But if Kamesennin really is superior to Yamcha and Chiaotzu......... then he can wipe his ass with Raditz. At the start of the Android saga, #19 & #20 originally thought that Yamcha was Goku, based on the energy readings they computed from him:

And since Gero monitored Goku through the Saiyan saga, it means Yamcha's PL was likely upwards of 32,000(Goku's highest recorded PL during the Saiyan saga), otherwise the Androids wouldn't have made that comparison.

Chiaotzu is much harder to accurately gauge. His highest recorded PL=610, during the Saiyan saga. However, he then trained on King Kai's world, and spent most of his life training with Tien after being revived. During the Buu saga, he was powerful/skillful enough to avoid Super Buu's Human Extinction Attack(which is probably his best feat, tbh.) If his PL wasn't at least in the thousands by then, I'd be surprised.

Conversely, Roshi's only recorded PL=139--and he never really trained. That said, I'm not sure how he could have possibly surpassed them..? Heck, he'd have to increase his PL by 10x just to even think about challenging Raditz.

Blockythe1guy
Hm, I Thought some of Freeza's Army would be least more powerful then Raditz.

But i guess inconsistency happens? Since that red horn guy beat up piccolo who should be more powerful then Semi-Perfect Cell.

Galan007
That scene was focused more on giving the Z fighters some screen time, rather than adhering to any form of consistency.

Sans the Z fighters & Gods, base form Freeza, with a PL of 530,000, was still far and away the most powerful being in the universe(this was once again made clear when he was first revived)--so obviously it makes no sense to have random no-name goons on his task force who possess #17-level power.

Toriyama does whatever the f*ck he wants these days. srsly

Appule's an officer at least, and when a Namekian warrior kicked him, he got up and was ready for more, unlike the rank and file.

I think mostly the officers.

Basically it'd go, rank-and-file, then officers/warriors (like Appule and Raditz and even Nappa), then the real elite like Cui and Vegeta, then Frieza's hand-picked people.

It's kinda always been the case that when sagas march on, power of lesser people just gets pulled along with it.

Time-Immemorial
How the fck has everyone seen this already?

The two goons that Gohan and Krillin fought on Namek used guns and they had a power level of 1,500.

They must have not learnt to control KI but were naturally strong. (but they could fly?)

Stronger than Raditz but they were traveling with Frieza's personal army so they could be among the strongest in the galaxy.

Also regarding Roshi. Remember he is a martial hermit and gets pretty strong, pretty quickly when he's training. So the only explanation is that he was training for something before Frieza arrived putting him somewhere over 1st class warriors like Raditz.

In short. Roshi got this.

Raditz takes the old man out with a Double Sunday!

Roshi would've had to increase his PL by ~8-10x to contend with Raditz-level power. Given that he never really trained(so far as we know), it's really, really hard for me to think of a way that he could have attained such a huge boost... But again: that's IF we're talking about things logically, lol.

All logic out the window, there's this scene from the canon RoF manga to consider:

Tien didn't allow Yamcha or Chiaotzu to join the fight against Freeza's army, because he felt it was too dangerous for them... Yet the Z fighters had no qualms whatsoever with Roshi partaking in the action, lol. If taken literally, this implies that Roshi>>Yamcha/Chiaotzu... And during the Android saga, Yamcha's PL was ~32,000, lol.

Like I said: Toriyama does whatever the f*ck he wants these days.

AuraAngel
It might just be him trying to stick it to people that define characters solely by power levels. vin

Galan007
It's just him not giving a f*ck. novin

Same guy who now has Gohan doubting whether or not he can even go Super Saiyan... Nevermind SSJ2 or his 'Mystic' state(s). sick

AuraAngel
Which is very very strange cause Gohan was pretty mystic in BoG.

Though hey man. You set the gold standard for your particular genre and you can do what ya want.

Galan007
thumb up

It's not like Akira is know for consistency, anyway. stick out tongue

AuraAngel
I've found he was actually pretty good with it in the manga.

Krillin: "Holy crap there are several power levels here that could kill us in an instant! Let's leave Namek and get the Dragonballs later."
Me: "That is a pretty logical argument based on the information given."
Bulma: "But what if he kills the dragon like Piccolo?"
Me: "Shit...she's right."

Adam Grimes
Gohan looks like crap now. Shame is on you AT.

StiltmanFTW
He went Mystic in BoG and SSJ during the SSJG ritual.

And now he's not sure he can do it laughing out loud Good. The show needs to focus more on Vegeta anyway.

wakkawakkawakka
I still don't get how its okay for Roshi to be there yet 18 is nowhere in sight.

But as for this thread I guess Roshi would beat Raditz assuming Frieza's new grunts are stronger than the ones Krillin and Gohan encountered on Namek.

Utrigita
Without being certain I think Zarbon is refering to Gohan and Krillins powerlevel, not the scouts.

...But apparently a few months is all it takes for Gohan's power to dwindle into utter insignificance, lol. *sighs*

Q99
I don't know why RoF is going the 'depower Gohan' route. I mean GT did it, but not to that extent, and people complained, so why one-up GT?

Heck, I feel Gohan going mystic was one of the highlights of the Buu saga.

Okay, I just thought the wording alluded more towards what the Scouts had encountered then the scouts themselves.
