The long-awaited sequel to the Shenmue series is finally into fruition.

Finally, we the gamers, have won this generation. #SaveShenmue

Please consider donating:

It has eclipsed it's $2 million goal, but it will need all the support it can get.
We don't want to see a low-budget Shenmue, especially not now that it finally will be released.

Though very few are more excited than me about this game, but why do they need Kickstarter backing if it's already under Sony?

It was like a test. To see if that many people actually wanted the game to come out. And that would donate if they could.

Like I said, I'm glad that it's going to be made but their exceeded goals list is stupid. They should add those things in there from the beginning and after such a quick response from the dedicated fans, Sony should front the rest of the money.

Yu Suzuki works as an indie developer now.

Sony wanted to know if there was still interest in the series after all these years.
If the Kickstarter reaches a specific amount (likely Suzuki's $10mil goal), they'll step in and help with the development. Sony is a corporation, after all.

Lek Kuen
Well he didn't get the 10 mil he wanted

Thanks a lot, ya cheapskates.

Now we gonna get a half-assed game.

Smasandian
Cheapstakes.

Let's give hundreds and hundreds of dollars for game that hasn't 25% produced.....
